Several mom blogger friends and I were invited to the SM Hypermarket Super Chefs cooking demo by Caren.
Below was one of the three recipes she demonstrated: Smoked Bangus Paté
Ingredients:
- medium-sized smoked bangus fillet, flaked and fried in olive oil
- 1 box of cream cheese
- half-cup all-purpose cream
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
In a blender, put one piece of medium-sized smoked bangus fillet (minus the head, tail and bones), cream cheese, all-purpose cream, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Pulse until smooth and creamy.
Serve in individual containers with toasted bread or your favorite chips.
To those who have been reading phentermine reviews and want to diet, try substituting light all-purpose cream and light cream cheese. Lessen salt too since the smoked bangus is a bit salty already. Plus use baked chips instead of fried ones.
Nomnomnom!

We have been experiencing extreme hot weather condition on a daily basis. Yes, there is no stopping summer. Just the other day, we experienced 34.5 degrees Celsius.
I am sure that even if there are people who are gearing for rv repairs for their road trips, more are worried about their crops or lack of it due to El Nino phenomenon.
I have read somewhere that the weather will reach up to 40 degrees. Ugh!
It is important then to know how to protect yourself from heat:
- Drink plenty of fluids, if possible more than 8 glasses per day.
- Replace lost salt by drinking sports drinks. Salts and minerals are lost because of sweating.
- Use sunscreen whenever you will be under the heat of the sun.
- Avoid being directly under the sun from 10am till 2pm.
- Wear clothes made of light materials.
- Monitor those who are at risk like babies and elderly.
- Try to lighten up your physical activities to avoid exhaustion.
It is important to try to slow down especially when one feels exhausted.
There, I hope I was able to enumerate a few helpful tips on how to protect one’s self from heat this summer.

The heat is unbearable and summer is not officially here yet. Or is it?
I know this is the season (or it might be even too late in the day) to look for the best weight loss products to help one wear a swimsuit of choice. If not then it is time to get that beach shawl that will best suit the beach wear one plans to use 😀
Am laughing but I know I will be the latter 😀
Isn’t it ironic that those things that will make you forget the heat for a while (think: ice cream, halo-halo, just bumming in an air-conditioned room, fruit shakes, shaved ice drinks and ice cold Coke of course!) are the ones that will make the waistline expand.
Gah! I need a glass of ice cold orange juice to think this over 🙂

Yesterday, we went window shopping for sports apparel. It was fun looking at shoes, shirts and shorts. I thoroughly enjoy doing this even if the budget (as usual) does not allow me to get what I think I need at the moment.
Plus the fact that I still need to do more sweating (no, I will not succumb to using weight loss products) to shed off the (ugly and) excess mid-body pounds, I refuse to get that blue running tee from Nike Essentials.
I want need one!!!!

Being on the lookout for natural skin care, one of the best things to use would be virgin coconut oil.
As I have mentioned in this post about the soaps we have used which have virgin coconut oil as a main ingredient, pure coconut oil has so many benefits to the skin and in my opinion, should be included in most beauty products being sold in the market.
Why the country, with so many coconut tree plantations is not cashing on virgin coconut oil in the skin care products being manufactured here is a puzzle to me. Virgin coconut oil, not chemicals, should be patronized and used because of its healthy benefits.
These are just some of the skin conditions that are best dealt with pure coconut oil: dry, wrinkled skin, psoriasis, eczema treatment, dermatitis, among others.
This is just about skin care benefits. There are also healthy benefits for hair care, stress relief, weight loss, digestion, dealing with a variety of infections are just some of the few that benefit from the use of virgin coconut oil.
I really hope this product will be used so consumers will benefit from its good results.

I have featured the dish (below) here as it was done in a cooking class I was invited to go to.
Last Wednesday night, we had it for dinner with a few minor changes according to what I have at home.
I plan to cook more using olive oil even if it is a bit of a strain in the pocket but if the benefits are good for the family’s health, why not?
I usually use soybean oil for cooking and I still do especially in frying (fish) which requires more oil.
