Summer Fun Outdoors with Licealiz Shampoo

Majority of the children today are tech-savvy and most of the time, glued to the glowing mobile and tablet screens. However, this does not mean that we cannot let them experience the joys of riding a bike, playing tag, and lots of other activities that kids used to love doing outdoors, especially during the summer break.

While it is important to let your kids have fun under the sun, certain precautions must still be set to ensure that they are safe from harm and discomfort. Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo, together with several moms from various walks of life shared tips on how to arm their kids for a fun and safe day outdoors!

Protecting them from environmental risks

  • The outdoors can also cause harm to your kid if you do not take safety measures to avoid possible natural risks. “Of course, I worry that they could get diseases especially with the recent measlesoutbreak, but thankfully my kids are vaccinated, and that takes away a lot of stress and worry for us,”says mommy of three and children’s book author Teresa Dumadag.

  • If your kids will run around in the afternoon, be sure to put sunblock to protect them from harmful UV
rays and bring mosquito repellent to keep dengue-carrying mosquitoes away. Mommy Laila, co-founder
of lifestyle brand Elements of Tomorrow and mom of one, also says that it is important to dress
according to the weather: “We let our child, Sid Nayon, play freely in nature whether it’s sunny or rainy.
So of course we dress him accordingly so he is well-protected.”

Being prepared for emergencies.

  • For Mommy Teresa, prevention is better than cure. Whenever she and her husband take their three boys to the park, she always makes sure they are ready for whatever accidents and emergencies that may occur. “Just recently, my eldest son fell while running and wounded his knee. Thankfully, we had wet wipes to clean the wound and found a restroom he could wash it in,” she shared.

  • Meanwhile, Mommy Kaye, a part-time working mom with a three-year-old, says that she already has a bag of essentials prepared for whenever she goes out with her son, Riley: “The contents of the backpack include a small towel, wipes, alcohol, mosquito repellent patches, a bottle of water and an extra shirt.” Being prepared for emergencies can also give you that peace of mind and will let you enjoy alongside your kid.

Teaching your kids proper hygiene

  • While putting several safety measures for your kids is important, nothing is more effective than teaching your kids to take care of themselves. Mommy Heart Calimlim, virtual assistant and freelance writer, says that she makes sure to explain to her kids the importance of proper hygiene: “It’s for their own sake. Kung hindi ko sila tuturuan na alagaan sarili nila, baka ikapahamak pa nila at lalo silang magkasakit (It’s for their own sake. If I don’t teach them to take care of themselves, it will cause more harm and they’re more likely to catch diseases).”

  • Washing hands right after playing is also an effective way to avoid germs. According to Mommy Kaye, “There’s always a feeling of paranoia, if I may call it, because playing outside brings a lot of germs, especially now that he’s in a phase where he keeps on biting his nails.” This is why right after playing, one of the first things Mommy Kaye does is to make Riley wash his hands to avoid illnesses caused by these germs.

Keeping it consistent at home

  • To support her son’s active and adventurous personality, Mommy Laila believes that protecting him is a daily and consistent thing: “We see to it that our kid is healthy in terms of their food. We only feed him plant-based and organic food so that when he plays outside, he’s not prone to sickness and he has strength.” Promoting a healthy diet as well as regular vitamin intake can build up your child’s strength so that he is ready to face everything when he plays outdoors.

  • Your kid should not be the only one being protected, but also the whole family. Mommy Teresa shared,
There was a time when we had a maid who had lice. She was the one taking care of my son so he also
got head lice and so we had to buy head lice shampoo for the both of them.” Shampoo specifically made
for head lice infestation is the best treatment you can give to your child.

In case of head lice infestation, use Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo twice a week for two weeks, and once a week for prevention
of head lice recurrence. That way, your child is safe from head lice infestation, especially when they
interact with other kids.

At the end of the day, it is always our child’s happiness that we care about. Mommy Heart shared, “Ever since we started letting our kids play outside, I always see them happy and they really look forward to play time.”

Taking the time to spend a whole day of playing outdoors with your kids is also a great opportunity to bond and of course, there is no better way for parents to show their love for their kids than to spend quality time with them.

Young Living Essential Oils Philippines

Our family try our best to live a healthy life. One of the best ways we do this is by using essential oils in our day-to-day living. Being a member of Young Living, it has been a great journey so far.

We welcomed the opening of Young Living Philippines on 2019 with open hands and with great joy.

Being at the forefront of producing high-grade and pure essential oils, Young Living will always be a part of our daily rituals to be healthier.

What is Young Living Essential Oils all about?

World Leader in the Industry
Young Living’s humble beginnings started when its founder, D. Gary Young, first planted a few lavender seeds in a small patch of land in Washington. Fueled by his passion to develop natural wellness products, he developed a simple, homemade essential oil distillery to process his lavender harvests. The result is the first pure batch of Young Living essential oil and as they say, the rest is history. Twenty-five years on, Young Living now consistently upholds its mission of being a steward to nature’s living energy – distilling nature’s greatest gifts into high-quality essential oils for the benefit of the world, making it the world leader in the industry.

Seed to Seal

But this great feat wouldn’t have been possible without the rigorous standards and sourcing discipline that Young Living has lived by for 25 years. It sets the industry standards for quality and purity with its proprietary Seed to Seal commitment, which consists of 3 pillars – Sourcing, Science and Standards.

Sourcing
o Sourcing the highest quality materials only from corporate-owned farms, partner farms and Seed to Seal-certified suppliers to empower the company to be a steward of the earth by sourcing conscientiously with sensitivity to community impact.

Science

o With 180 years of combined research and R&D experience, Young Living’s laboratory team tests samples internally as well as through 3 rd party accredited laboratories. This is all to ensure that the company only creates pure and effective products that contain the cleanest and most innovative ingredients available.

Standards

o Young Living upholds its commitment to do business responsibly – from sustainability sourcing, uplifting local communities to respecting and complying domestic and international legal rules, providing top-tier standards for sustainability.

Young Living’s extensive line of essential oils and essential oil-infused products prove the company’s global resources, industry leadership, and twenty-five years of innovation. This drive for quality has raised the standards for the industry, showcasing that there are processes that
benefit the environment — at the same time ensuring high standards in production.

Best Friends of the Forest (BFF) Movement

Last year, on March 21, 2018, on the International Day of the Forest, the Best Friends of the Forest (BFF) Movement was born. Founded by the Forest Foundation of the Philippines, the BFF Movement is a community of young and action-oriented environmentalists, artists, travelers, and social entrepreneurs. The group aims to inspire and enable more millennials to be advocates of forest conservation and protection.

The need for millennials to take up the mantle of conservation for their generation is more urgent than ever before.

“The threat of deforestation has become so severe that we are losing forest cover at an alarming rate. If we do not take action, our forests may not be around for the next generation to see,” said Forest Foundation Philippines’ Executive Director, Atty. Jose Canivel a year ago, during the launch of the BFF Movement.

Anybody with a heart for forest conservation can join the BFF Movement. A year since it was launched, it has gathered the support of many outspoken environmental advocates. BFF Movement has also gotten the attention of young people looking for ways to make the world a better place.

Pasig City, Philippine Winner of WWF One Planet City Challenge 2018

Pasig City Named Philippine Winner of WWF’s One Planet City Challenge 2018

Pasig City has been declared as the Philippine National Capital of the 2017-2017 edition of World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) One Planet City Challenge (OPCC). This is a biennial global challenge that recognizes cities for developing infrastructure, housing, transport and mobility solutions to power the global transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future. 2018 had 133 cities representing 23 countries accepting the Challenge.

These are Pasig’s actions that made it a winner that reflected the “sustainable transport and mobility” theme of this run of the OPCC and have made the city eligible for the Global OPCC Prize

  • concrete and comprehensive actions to reduce its carbon emissions, particularly its plan to reduce traffic emissions and congestions
  • its targeted actions around renewable energy and energy efficiency
  • the city’s strong community engagement and its adaptation actions, such as the cleaning of the Pasig River
  • its strong alignment of actions to emissions reduction and execution of said actions.

Seven other Philippine cities have successfully qualified to join the 2017-2018 OPCC based on the criteria announced early in 2017:

  • Batangas
  • Catbalogan
  • Makati
  • Parañaque
  • San Carlos
  • Tagum
  • Zamboanga

The cities of Makati, Pasig, and San Carlos went on to become national finalists and participated in the “We Love Cities” global campaign from May 7 until the end of June 2018.

The City of Jakarta bagged the top plum in the campaign, which is a social media contest that is aimed at inspiring and engaging the respective citizens of the national finalists across the globe for support, votes, and ideas for improvement while Pasig came in second.
