The AgeWell Club is a dedicated group in Unilab that aims to help address the health and wellness concerns of adults at the age range of 50+ and above. Unilab has various groups working for the wellbeing of children, women and athletes. It is just fitting that a group catering to the needs of these adults is made to customize and develop health and wellness solutions to their unique needs.

A holistic approach to aging well, one that includes improving physical, emotional and social wellbeing, enables adults to stay healthy, happy and active. These do not just help have a long life but a life that is composed of doing things that are enjoyable and at the same time learning new things. AgeWell Club helps its members find ways to enjoy life and have a better life despite the age. AgeWell Club’s holistic approach to health and wellness along with Unilab’s expertise in Science will surely make this life stage exciting and enjoyable. The AgeWell Club is a support system in these adults’ quest to understand aging and the different adjustments and changes that comes with it:

• physical changes
• emotional changes that comes when worry and excitement for what lies ahead are thought of
• the desire to still be productive
• the need to be in contact with others who understand what each is going through

Here are the reasons why these adults should join AgeWell Club:

• Be able to attend interactive sessions focusing on health, nutrition, fitness, and the emotional well-being that are relevant to for the issues these adults are currently dealing with. These monthly sessions are free.
• Be able to look for options and solutions customized to the unique health and wellness needs as an adult in this particular age range
• Experiential and recreational activities like heritage walks, field trips, cultural and food tours are provided at discounted rates to allow them to learn new skills, experience new things, meet new friends and create new memories.
• Club members can also enjoy deals and promos that are offered exclusively to them like health check-up packages and discounts for medical house calls. AgeWell Club members can also enjoy exclusive promos and deals from AgeWell and Unilab brands.

Joining is easy: Just fill out the AgeWell Membership for and pay an annual P1,000 membership fee through bank deposit or during one of the mo they learning sessions. If bank deposit was made, just email a scanned copy or a photo of the deposit slip or give the deposit slip to one of the AgeWell Club representatives during monthly sessions.

Philips AVENT Celebrates Today’s Moms

This exciting event was a culmination of a week-long motherhood celebration in partnership with the Baby Company. Held at the SM Makati recently, it aims to equip moms with lifetime parenting tools and guidance with the use of healthy and innovative solutions from Philips AVENT.

Hosted by Marylaine Louise Viernes, the event educated guests on  various topics about effective motherhood while promoting the wellness of their young children.

Chef Dang Adrias, chef instructor at the Metropolitan Occupational Science and Technology Institute, shared healthy homemade baby food cooking tips using the Avent Combined Steamer and Blender. This Avent Combined Steamer and Blender will surely make preparing healthy food choices to young children easy and almost fuss-free.

Sharon Agoncillo, managing director at Baby Signs Philippines, interestingly talked about how parents can communicate with their babies – even before they can talk. Signing for babies who do not have hearing impairment helps not only in making them express what they feel, it also makes bonding between parents and child so much easier.

Frances Amper Sales, writer and digital influencer behind Topaz Horizon, gave out helpful notes on how to capably raise three little boys, while staying chic and positively beautiful. Mothers need not look haggard when taking care of their children and the household with the 10 simple tips on how to stay positively looking great without taking time away from the responsibilities.

The full-day, free admission event featured the Philips AVENT Studio – a showcase of Philips’ diverse range of healthy lifestyle technologies for moms and their infants or toddlers; an expression board where guests posted colorful sheets of paper as they share their fulfilling motherhood experiences; and a pit-stop where guests were able to avail of free hairstyling makeovers and healthy refreshments.

When she joined 51Talk, Michele conducted an online class to different learners. She has then spent time interacting with the students, teaching them the language and learning more about their culture.

Michele said that “From my experience, I’ve learned that patience and understanding are very important so that each session will be fulfilling and successful. Students have different learning curves, so I have to adjust and adapt to them so I can teach effectively.”

51 Talk Teacher Story Contest

51 Talk recently held “51 Talk Teacher Story” Contest, aimed to encourage their e-Educators to share their experience as online teachers. Three winners were chosen out of 250 entries based on uniqueness, inspirational appeal and over-all impact.

Clothes for Hope Donation Drive

Electrolux and Mommy Mundo join together for the Clothes for Hope Donation Drive

Electrolux Philippines, a global leader in home appliances, in partnership with ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya and Mommy Mundo, an online portal of mom and family-focused resources, initiated the Clothes for Hope donation drive as part of its Wear Your Passion campaign to help the victims of recent calamities.

“It has been an unfortunate year for the Philippines as we braved through one natural disaster after another. From the earthquake that struck Bohol and Cebu to super typhoon Yolanda, these disasters have left thousands of families grieving for the loss of their homes and loved ones,” says Andrea Pionilla, Marketing Manager, Electrolux Philippines. “That is why through the Clothes for Hope donation drive, we aim to provide immediate relief to the victims by giving them the hope of a new beginning through freshly laundered clothes which will be delivered to them by Sagip Kapamilya,” Pionilla adds.

This holiday season, the entire nation is united in helping the victims of recent calamities recover from these tragedies. “Electrolux and Mommy Mundo have provided avenues for people to lend a helping hand by putting up a number of donation sites where people can drop off their pre-loved clothes, blankets, and towels,” adds Pionilla.

Those who wish to help can drop off their pre-loved items in any of the following donation sites:

  • Electrolux Customer Service Hub, Makati City;
  • Mommy Mundo Office, Pasig City;
  • Numa Store, Quezon City; Alabang, Muntinlupa City;
  • Promosphere Inc., Mandaluyong City;
  • and Universal Promo Specialists, Inc., Mandaluyong City.
  • Donations will also be accepted at the Mommy Mundo Bazaar on December 8, 2013 at the Rockwell Tent, Makati City.

P&G, Puregold and First VIPuring Convention

As a way to thank retailers and entrepreneurs for their loyalty and support, Procter & Gamble Distributing Philippines, Inc and Puregold recently held the first VIPuring Convention. The event was held at Puregold Paso de Blas, Valenzuela City.

During the event, Puregold GOLD members were able to enjoy exclusive privileges on amazing deals and discounts when they purchase P&G products. There were also prizes to those who were able to get these deals.

Bestselling author, entrepreneur and financial adviser Francisco J. Colayco shared helpful tips on how to save money and invest to be able to enhance the business experience and expand business opportunities.

Broadway-themed entertainment featuring Joy Antibac and The Kitchen Musical‘s Karylle and Christian Bautista wowed the crowd with their performances.

Downy Mystique and Regine Tolentino did a masquerade production number. Olay Total Effect featured The Little Mermaid with Nikki Gil‘s voice. Head & Shoulders had Gian Magdangal and Ciara Sotto‘s perform with the audience singing along.
