Subaru Impreza WRX STI

April is a few days away and this would mean car re-registration, auto insurance quotes and a badly needed fresh coat of paint and body works, among others.

Below is one of the cars that the children have a liking to, Subaru Impreza WRX STI. No, that almost new car with a fresh coat of paint is NOT our car. Wish it is though 😀

We have watched Russ Swift drive a Subaru Impreza WRX STI for Precision Driving demo. See the J turns and donuts that this car can do on the pavement.

Awesome power.

Fresh fruits, another entry, here.

Smoked Bangus Paté

Several mom blogger friends and I were invited to the SM Hypermarket Super Chefs cooking demo by Caren.

Below was one of the three recipes she demonstrated: Smoked Bangus Paté

bangus pate

Ingredients:

  • medium-sized smoked bangus fillet, flaked and fried in olive oil
  • 1 box of cream cheese
  • half-cup all-purpose cream
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

In a blender, put one piece of medium-sized smoked bangus fillet (minus the head, tail and bones), cream cheese, all-purpose cream, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Pulse until smooth and creamy.

Serve in individual containers with toasted bread or your favorite chips.

To those who have been reading phentermine reviews and want to diet, try substituting light all-purpose cream and light cream cheese. Lessen salt too since the smoked bangus is a bit salty already. Plus use baked chips instead of fried ones.

Nomnomnom!

Equal Opportunity

We homeschool the kids but this coming school year, we plan to enroll them in a school. Consensual choice.

So now, a job search begins.

Who would want a middle-aged female and mom like me in the work force? I know I have the credentials, the skills, the (ahem) personality and on top of that I have other skills that I can be proud of.

Still on top of that, if I go the usual channel of job application, I may not be able to land one.

Why not?

I find companies in this country discriminating. There seems to be a NO EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY for those applying for job vacancies.

I’d see job postings: “Graduates of blah-blah-blah courses, preferably from yada-yada-yada universities”

Preschool teacher: Preferably single and not more than 35 years old. (Yeah right how could single moms care for preschool children but then again married teachers will excuse themselves because of child/home-related emergencies)

I don’t know, should the Labor Department look in on this?

Mang Inasal

A trio of dips from Mang Inasal: vinegar, chicken oil and soy sauce.

Mang Inasal Trio

Mang Inasal stores are just about anywhere. In the area where we live, there is one nearby but another one is being constructed.

Unlimited rice. For the uninitiated, rice is staple food in the Philippines and is present in almost every meal.(Yes, figure conscious people should have their weight loss pills ready 😀 )

We like eating here because the food being served are “homely” and simple.

Nuvali Evoliving

When we went to my niece’s baptismal celebration last Sunday, we dropped by Nuvali, one of the newest places to live south of the metro. It was just unfortunate we came by when it was getting dark.

Solenad

We all fell in love with Nuvali Evoliving. I’m sure there is more to what we have seen based on the modern structures in front. I have been browsing the photos of the place and I like what I am seeing.

For  sure I would not mind long distance moving as long as our destination is this place. I would gladly pack up at the drop of a hat, promise.

Plus, the place would not be a reason not go to trail walking 🙂 Just the perfect blend of urban and rural living.

So now I sing: Sweet dreams are made of these….

Chi-chi, our American Pit Bull Terrier

photohunter

This is Chi-chi, our American Pit Bull Terrier.

Chichi

Chichi (who I already featured in a PH entry here) is sweet with the kids and is very playful. Yes, she is cuddly but we seldom cuddle her because she is big, heavy, and muscled.

When she steps on your toes with her big paws or stands up and the nails scratched your arm, you will definitely say “Awww!”

Pit Bulls are probably one of the misunderstood breeds among dogs.

Oops, my short post just got long. I am a bit busy these days and had only a little time to write a post.

Now back to looking for pre-employment screening for a friend who is putting up a new biz.
