Happy New Year

2010 is starting great in this household despite losing granduncle before the New Year and me having a sprained ankle. Water connection has improved thanks to the almost non-stop digging which made me stop going to my morning rounds (excuses, excuses). Now we are complaining the water pressure is too strong, lol!

Internet connection is better too. Hubby is now thinking about rearranging the home office furniture here in the library just in case, JUST IN CASE, we are able to afford a new pc or a netbook.

Hmmm…

I may need to work harder then and save more for that day to be here the soonest possible :D

Reading About 2009 in Review

Since I am unable to move and be up and about, I got to reading a lot of year-ender articles. I absolutely love these article summing up what has happened. There are topics and issues that are familiar and there are those I just encountered just now.

I have been reading about the decade’s cybercrimes when I got to open several tabs which made me search for diamonds and in turn made me read about NatGeo’s SuperDiamonds.

I don’t know, there is just something about crime and diamonds that go together.

Oh well, now I am off to read more. Who knows, I might learn something new today and I am sure I will  :)

Mail Those Christmas Cards Now

Or should those Christmas cards been mailed a few weeks ago?

I think the art of sending handwritten Christmas cards and letters is now lost because of the new technology that keeps people connected in more ways than one.

I love receiving Christmas photo cards. I told myself that the kids will do these handwritten cards but the truth is, we haven’t started yet.

Last year’s Christmas craft projects like photo ornaments and gift cards went underway early. I know I am to blame because I have been too busy with not so important things and have neglected this aspect of our routine.

I hope it is not too late to start these projects.

Wish For a New DVD Player

The kids love to watch DVD movies. Hubby and I are on the lookout for a new unit since ours seem to be on the brink of extinction due to abuse, misuse and old age.

Oh, did I mention that the remote control’s buttons do not correspond to the function it is supposed to do?

Bluray dvd players would be a good thing to get to replace said unit. Hubby wants a player with a DIV-X format for the encoded AVI files of movies and TV series.

I am sure our Kuya will be the happiest for there would be no need to call him when we need to pause the player or choose a chapter :D

Have You Tried Online Auctions?

I got an email from a friend regarding free online auctions going-ons with a website where we both contribute articles for.

I know it is a not a really good idea to take a peek but if I do, I might like it and spend a lot there. A lot more than I can actually afford on a lot of things that I don’t actually need at the moment.

Yes, we know how it is with discounted items, we might need this thing or that one of these days :D
