We always have fresh tomatoes at home. Tomatoes are wonderful fruits and there are many ways to use these for the different food that we like to have.
These may be omelet, pasta, ginisang ulam, eaten as side dish or as sandwich filling.
So why did I put these tomatoes instead of a photo of our (a bit cramped) kitchen? Because these are always on the kitchen counter several times a week for our food preparation ๐
In fact we just had an omelet a while ago for breakfast and you can probably guess what is in it ๐

Wide open spaces are scarce in a megapolitan like ours called Megapolitan (or Mega) Manila where traffic is ordinary especially during weekdays which is what my other entry is all about.
I am thankful then that we are just a mere 10-15 minutes away from the wide open spaces of a campus where Iย spent some years for my graduate studies and where people including us, can go to during weekends for physical exercises like biking, walking, running, jogging and other sport activities. We also go there at times for a picnic lunch.
We love these kinds of weekend activities where we can have fun in wide open spaces ๐
What about you?

We recently got a few DVD movies for the children to watch.
One was Space Buddies which they have watched two or three times already which has dogs as stars in the movie. This is a sign that they love it because of the number of times it has been watched to think it was just Friday night that we got these movies.
The other movie we got was Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler a hotel handyman which was also funny and they understood early on that the stories told by the children were magically and coincidentally coming true. I just think they enjoyed the Jumanji (from the same director) better.
Still another movie they enjoyed was “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian“. They have almost forgotten about the first movie “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardobe“and I am sure they will watch that to refresh their memories.

I was a bit challenged with this one and since I can not find any tricolore food photo in my files that I have cooked/made, I decided to put this hastily-taken photo of a glass of Sago’t Gulaman. Gutom na kasi at that time kaya hastily taken, more like an after-thought, ๐
Sago’t gulaman. One of the Pinoy thirst-quenchers that seems to have taken a back seat because of the influx of sugar-laden soda drinks, tea-based drinks and other drinks called shakes with chemically enhanced flavors. This is perfect for summer, isn’t it? If not, a halo-halo will do just fine ๐
Gotta.have.one.like.this.today ->note to self.
Yeah and not think that I need some weight loss pills to get ready for the beach this summer ๐

Last night we attended the Bloggers’ Event for Ipanema’s Gisele Bundchen (GB) Seeds Collection.
Photo taken during the dance performance of the Philippine Ballet Theater where the ballerinas wore the GB Seeds Collection while dancing and yes, no straps were broken ๐
The launching of the GB Seeds Collection is being teamed with Haribon Foundation in an effort to create not just an awareness on the preservation of the Philippine rainforests but as one of the steps to be taken to realize the goals in the preservation of these treasured natural resources.
I had the chance to ask Mr Patxi Elizalde who was very accommodating about the materials they used for this collection and he explained that these are made from recycled materials like residues from different things like PVC, industrial and painting residues.
There will also be a Walk the Green Mile Walkathon slated on March 21 and part of the proceeds of these GB Seeds Collection will help in the planting and growing of trees

Bucao River is one of the rivers in my home province.
My other entry gives emphasis on the side of this bridge that brings me closer to our family home, where my parents and brother live.
Bucao River flows from Mount Pinatubo, a volcano that erupted in the early 1990s after being dormant for almost 500 years. Its ash fall reach other South East Asian countries.
Anyway…
When we went home last Sunday to celebrate my father’s birthday, I asked my husband to stop so that I could take photos of the river and of the bridge on the other side.
The bridge in the foreground is newer because the bridge before that was destroyed by lahar flow.
