Grilled Stuffed Squid

Grilled Stuffed Squid

I haven’t tried doing this at home. I have tried grilling squid, yes, but not stuffed.

This seemed difficult to do, with the cleaning of the squid and thinking about the stuff to out inside. Of course, there is the trusted Google that will spit out probably hundreds of ways that this can be done, and yeah, there 46,700 posts about “grilled stuffed squid”.

My student GG loves havng this grilled stuffed squid. To think that he is a picky eater mean that this food is really special to him. This may not look too appetizing to some but to me, this is tops.

Naku sa totoo lang, masarap ito kainin ng naka-kamay at me kasamang hilaw na mangga at bagoong. Wagi!

What’s in your LunchBox?

The FilipinoMomBlog.com officialy launched the “What’s in Your Lunchbox?” Meme today, November 11,2008.

This lunchbox photomeme will be posted all Tuesdays for the month of November and is open to everyone who prepares lunchboxes for their children and/or husbands and/or themselves.

I have posted my children’s lunchbox menu yesterday here.

Then I remembered that I have taken a photo of what we brought for snacks for Wednesday last week and here they are, grapes, apple slices and sandwiches in the brown paper bag:

Now why the fuss about what is in a lunchbox?

Mamou Dark Chocolate Sans Rival

Last April when we went to do restaurant-hopping at Serendra for Spot.Ph, I have forgotten to write a post about it, one of the more memorable experiences for me was sampling the Dark Chocolate Sans Rival from Mamou, the Home Kitchen of Malou Fores.

Coupled with the fact that she was there to personally supervise the bloggers visiting her place, it was an experience that one would really feel at home and welcomed.

Anyway, for two-tone (even if its technically three-tone), I present Mamou’s Dark Chocolate Sans Rival. The topmost part is the dark chocolate and below it, the things that make a sans rival, well, sans rival.

The photo may be a bit blurry because I was already a bit tired here (photo below is #1103 whereas #0926 is the first photo) because we have walked from the other restaurants and sampled other food as well.

Dark Chocolate Sans Rival, so delicious, its like a melt-in-your-mouth experience which will not make you desperate for a glass of water because its not too sweet. Instead of water, one would probably get another bite 😉

There were different food preparations they have prepared for us. I must say these were good too. In fact, Market Manila named it best restaurant meal in Manila.

Pork Humba

Don’t get me wrong, Pork Humba or Braised Pork Belly or Pork Stew is VERY tasty. We used to have this cooked twice or thrice a month when we weren’t into healthy food years ago. I don’t use the pork belly then, thank you very much, because of its fat but I use pork loin instead. There are many varieties to this dish but I prefer cooking this with lots of garlic, mushroom, and hard boiled eggs

It is a slow cooking recipe and you can view how it is cooked here.

Below is a photo of what constitute a pork humba using pork belly or in Filipino term, liempo:

I am not so sure how much fat content there is for every slice of this meat. But from these come bacon slices which are cured before they make their way to the supermarket.

So what is SCARY about this? The fat content of course! 😀

Here is my other entry for the scary theme.

Bubba Gump Lunch with Forrest Gump

We had lunch at Bubba Gump TriNoma today and met Forrest Gump being “played” by Steve Weber.

I had fun, I think the other blogger guests had fun too.

The food was great and so is the ambience. The crew were friendly and so is Forrest.

Fat-Burning Vegetable Soup

These are some of the ingredients needed to make vegetable soup which would help burn body fat.

Special thanks to a very special lady who shared this recipe to those who want to burn body fat while having this soup: Toni of Wifely Steps.

I tried this vegetable soup and I loved it. If I could only have this for a week, like those being taken for a 7-day diet, I would. Semestral break is coming up so I may have the chance to do this again once I don’t have to go to work.
