Rain in the Summer Time

friday rain

We have been blessed with a little rain two days ago. The roads though dried up so fast that people wouldn’t know it rained had they been inside a building where they can’t see that it did. I know months ago we have been praying for the rains to stop because it has caused so much damage. But this summer has been one of the hottest we have experienced so far that it seems like the news has reported “Today is the hottest day of the year” several times already.

The crops have died and the rivers dried. So much damage that the drought is as catastrophic as last year’s flood damages were.

Yup, I’ve stopped counting at 38 degrees C. The weather bureau reported that the rainy season will be starting soon seems far off since we are still experiencing unbearable heat even if the Southern part of the country has flooding.

I’m sure resort owners are not ready to bring out the hot tub covers yet since this means the peak summer season has ended.

As for me, I’ve missed out on a lot of outdoor activities of fun, sun and sand this year. Booo…

I Am Not Ready for Summer

I heard giggling girls at the mall today talking about crash diets that work.

Just exactly what I need to remind me that summer is HERE and I haven’t done a thing to at least minimize, ok then burn, these unsightly mid-body bulges. Ugh.

Eat plenty of raw leafy vegetables? Check.

Use of olive oil in cooking? Check.

More healthy eating? Check.

More fruits in the diet? Check.

Staying on schedule re morning rounds? Check. For not doing these religiously in reality but mental running definitely a yes. Booo!!!

No soda or sugared drinks? Check for yes ๐Ÿ™

Definitely not ready for summer yet.

Oh well, I may not be able to wear clothes that are the current fad, my only wish is that I be healthy and free from any illnesses.

Bitter, hahaha.

Come to think of it, without no one to mind the house, we can’t even go on a vacation, not even spend oversight at my parents’ home. It has been years ago since we had a real vacation away from home.

Staycation is not really a case to be sad about, we love to stay at home and chill but being in an entirely different place and exploring new surroundings can do a lot for bored children.

Summer is Here, Hurray?

The heat is unbearable and summer is not officially here yet. Or is it?

I know this is the season (or it might be even too late in the day) to look for the best weight loss products to help one wear a swimsuit of choice. If not then it is time to get that beach shawl that will best suit the beach wear one plans to use ๐Ÿ˜€

Am laughing but I know I will be the latter ๐Ÿ˜€

Isn’t it ironic that those things that will make you forget the heat for a while (think: ice cream, halo-halo, just bumming in an air-conditioned room, fruit shakes, shaved ice drinks and ice cold Coke of course!) are the ones that will make the waistline expand.

Gah! I need a glass of ice cold orange juice to think this over ๐Ÿ™‚

Goodbye, Summer?

I know I am one of the many who complains about the hot and humid weather but is it goodbye summer already?

It was a good thing that last Sunday, even if I was having a sneezing fit and while the world was getting ready to watch the Pacquiao-Hatton fight in LV which had the Pacman KO Hatton <- (must watch) during 2nd round, my hubby and I decided to go where I can take photos of sunflowers (my favorite flowers!) and at the same time, spend a little time doing some walking. He brought a bike and went biking while I walked.

So there you go, a close-up sunflower photo, in memory of a very short summer.

Update: We are supposed to be in the middle of summer but we just had Chan-hom, a category 3 hurricane, ravaging the northern part of the country last night. Please pray for those who lost their homes and their loved ones.

Summer Fruits

Summer to me means fruits in season are a-plenty.

Summer means mangoes, ripe or green, watermelons, melons, pineapples and strawberries are in season too.

Take your pick and have a refreshing and healthy snack ๐Ÿ™‚
