Summer Toys

It is summer vacation where we are and there is so much to do!

For the children who are vacationing with my MIL and my parents, they brought a lot of stuff with them you’d think they won’t be coming back. They got toys and books and our smartphones with them.

Summer is that season where children can learn new skills. My children like to play with new stuff, like this Duncan raptor yoyo which we saw one time we were browsing the web for new toy ideas. Here was the video we saw:

They still occasionally play with their toys like the Beyblade. Still their favorite are the cars which at times get “lost” under my pillows.

Summer Vacation Plans for Your Children

Got summer plans already?

There is so much to do during summer and for sure, school children will not get bored with the many choices as to what they can do when school’s out:

  • travel and see how much fun it is in the Philippines (needs time to plan and budget for expenses)
  • cooking classes which also includes learning new skills like sanitation, cutting, sieving, food styling and nutrition facts
  • photography
  • styling classes
  • swimming, soccer, basketball, baseball, badminton classes for the sporty ones
  • piano, guitar, violin and voice lessons for the musically inclined
  • summer classes, whether advanced or for failed academic subjects
  • arts and crafts lessons for the crafty ones (this can be done at home because there are lots of tutorials to be found in the web)

There is so much to do during summer and there is no need for children to get bored. If budget is a problem, be creative and you can still have a lot of fun too!

Is Summer Over?

I hope not. Though the children enjoyed a two-week vacation with my parents and were able to spend a day or two at the beach, it seems that they have not truly enjoyed their summer vacation yet. And yes, it’s almost over with barely a month to go before school starts.

It would have been fun to go some place where they can enjoy and do what they like to like swim to their hearts’ desire or even ride on an ATV (and I heard RZR XP Accessories are selling fast) on a trail.

They still hope they could go to their other grandma’s place but I think that would be next to impossible now.

We’ll probably just plan weekend trips so that they can still enjoy their vacation. I don’t know what’s with Sundays, the bed’s attraction seem stronger than having fun elsewhere.

Ready for Summer with Dupé Chique Flipflops

I’m ready for summer with my new pair of Dupé flipflops! The pair below is Dupé Chique. Woot!

Dupé Gel Flipflops

I love the way this pair feels on my feet. The Dupe slippers has fish scale pattern on the sole for better flexibility. The new logo is on the sole and strap of each of the pair. It is 100% rubber.

Dupé Gel Flipflops

The heel massager is pure bliss because it gives me a feeling of cushion.

This particular Dupé has Gel XHP which means H = high comfort, X = expanded fully sealed coating for better flexibility and the use of P = Penta polymer material for durability.

Why should you get a pair of Dupé slippers? Continue Reading »

Planning for Summer

Been enjoying the relatively cool weather even if it means a lot of people, including my children are getting some sniffles. Much as I love this cool weather though I fear what the summer will bring. I can perhaps do something about the heat and bear it till the temps go down at night.

I have several plans for summer and none of that include travel yet. What are these things?

  • We plan to get rechargeable fans and lights for the brownout schedules.
  • We also plan to get more water containers like steel drums and big plastic ones for the foreseen water shortage. As I’ve written, we are not used to having water 24/7 and I think we can live with that since we have been doing that for more than a decade already because we are used to storing water for rationing.
  • We plan to purchase more comfortable clothes for summer to temporarily not feel humid weather.
  • More fruits to quench the thirst is a best way to go.

Do you have summer plans already?
