Fish Fillet and Mushrooms in Oriental Sauce

We had this for dinner the other night: Fish Fillet and Mushrooms in Oriental Sauce which I saw Chef Golda cook during the February 27, 2010 Light Meal Recipes with Dona Elena Cuisinera Club.

The kids loved it, and the husband did too. They were raving about how good the food smelled, “like those served in Chinese restaurants”. I am happy of course that they were able to appreciate once again what I prepared for them.

Here was what I cooked using cream dory fillet from SM Hypermarket Centris.

Below is the recipe: Continue Reading »

Low-Cal, Low-Carb Recipes

When I attended the Dona Elena Cuisinera Club’s Summer Recipes (low-cal and low-carb)  Cooking Demo on the last Saturday of February, I was tempted to look around the mall where it was held because there was a sale going on. But of course I did not, even after the cooking demo was done. *heaves a sigh of relief*

Anyway, I will be featuring the three recipes done later today when I have the time. I just need to get my bag I left in my MIL’s home for a copy of the recipes.

Here are three photos for each of the recipes prepared:

cream dory and mushroom

fruits and vegetables

I will be back later ASAP 😉

Hearty Meals with Olive Oil

lasangpinoy

I have featured the dish (below) here as it was done in a cooking class I was invited to go to.

Last Wednesday night, we had it for dinner with a few minor changes according to what I have at home.

pasta and fish fillet

I plan to cook more using olive oil even if it is a bit of a strain in the pocket but if the benefits are good for the family’s health, why not?

I usually use soybean oil for cooking and I still do especially in frying (fish) which requires more oil.

Chocolate Heaven Cake from Red Ribbon

Chocolate Heaven Cake from Red Ribbon is not an average chocolate cake.

Red Ribbon Chocolate Heaven Cake

It has four kinds of chocolate goodness: chocolate brownie, chocolate icing, chocolate curls and chocolate mousse.

Red Ribbon Chocolate Heaven Cake

These cakes will be made available on February 7, 2010 at Red Ribbon stores atPhP560.00 for the regular size and PhP335 for the Junior Size.

We had this with coffee and it was really good. For those who do not have a sweet tooth like me, a thin slice will do.

Just perfect to end a wonderful dinner served on contemporary coffee tables 🙂 Al fresco would be fine too since it is getting hot at night.
