Butterscotch Bars

Lasang Pinoy Sundays for this week is about Christmas Goodies.

I would have featured a few of the Christmas donuts that we had for the past two weekends but these were too “westernized” for me.

I have decided then to feature the butterscotch bars that the kids and I baked last week. This was in preparation for my Frugal Christmas theme. Yeah, even if I still have to practice baking which means I will shell out more than I have to, sige na, pangatawanan ko na 😀

Ok, I cheated.

I used a ready mix butterscotch/brownie mix (whatever) for this. I don’t know, it tasted like how a butterscotch bar should taste like. It was a bit, a teeny wee bit crunchy on top and soft and moist in the inside.

All sliced pieces baked from the 9 x 9 baking pan were gone before 24 hours were up (should I mention that we still had a pack of food for the gods given to us during that time). Maybe these were good to be given as goodies after all 😉

Reese’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

We love chocolates, these are one of our favorite kinds of dessert. These are bribes rewards for the children if they are able to eat the food on their plates. One of the more popular brand names in our household is the Reese’s milk chocolate peanut butter cups.

For this week’s FAVORITE Photo Hunt’s theme, I give you:

Reese’s milk chocolate peanut butter cups.

Feel free to get one 😉

Fab Holiday Finds: White Japanese Paper

As I have already planned to make personalized Christmas gift tags, I have also visualized what kind of wrapper I would use.

Yes, its WHITE.

White goes well with any color, doesn’t it? And this incidentally, is the theme for FilipinoMomBlog‘s Week 2 of the Fab Holiday Finds Meme.

Well white should go with any colors, especially the gift tags I made, so here are the inexpensive “Japanese papers” I bought to wrap my gifts in:

Personalized Gift Tags

Join our weekly Tuesday Fab Holiday Finds meme at the FilipinoMomBlog.com.

This is the first round of the weekly Fab Holiday Finds over at FilipinoMomBlog.com.

For this week, the theme “any color” is what will guide us as we start off this fabulous Christmas meme.

Below is a more detailed version of one of the personalized Christmas gift tags I made last Sunday. I know it is not as fancy as the ones being commercially made but I still decided to push through with this simple project.

Yeah, I know some glue drippings can still be seen on the paper, bear with me, I haven’t done this for a while 🙂

Details for cost and materials can be found here, along with the other gift tags I have made.

Matchbox Ford GT

Every Saturday, participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday is METAL.

One of my son’s newer addition to his toy collection, a Matchbox Ford GT toy car. He doesn’t really get this brand since he likes another toy brand more than this but he could not resist not having a Ford GT. Who wouldn’t?

Matchbox toy cars, like the other toy cars being sold like this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X which is my other entry, are made of die-cast metal

Here is a real Ford GT, my very first Photo Hunt entry, if I remember it right.

Glamour Girls Alexa’s Flower

My MIL gave this to my eldest daughter for her to be able to arrange her stuff and avoid having these just lying on her table.

Glamour Girls Alexa’s Flower

Glamour Girls Alexa’s Flower.

This is made of wires that were twisted to form a flower. On the wires, hair clips, photos, pins and other knick-knacks can be put either as storage or for decoration.

I expected my daughter to get excited with this one and use it right away with her mess stuff. The wire frame has been untouched since it was given last September. I may need to be more assertive with this, I think.
