Press Release for 7-Eleven’s 500th store:

(Please click on the figure to enlarge)

The number “500″ is a magical number for the world’s most popular convenience store chain. The opening of 7-Eleven‘s 500th store in Eton Centris in Quezon City marks, not only the steady growth and expansion of the brand locally, but also the chain’s loyalty to its promise to deliver excellent service and quality products to its consumers and franchisers. But the magic of the number 500 does not end there. In celebration of the opening of their 500th store, 7-Eleven also wants to give back to the Filipino community, who has remained faithful and staunch customers since the launch of its first store in 1984, with a special biking tour aptly named the 7-Eleven Tour 500. This inspiring advocacy was created to provide a safe and fun venue for biking enthusiasts of all ages (experienced and non-experienced bikers alike) to enjoy the world through two wheels, while helping those in need and the less fortunate by giving back to chosen charities. The company itself has its own group of experienced bikers who train and joins nationwide competitions.

Confetti

Confetti falling from the roof adds up to the excitement of events and gatherings, especially during ceremonial toasts, congratulatory portion and awarding of grand prizes.

Of course, this could be a bit of a problem during toasts.

confetti

When we went to the opening ceremony of the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show, some of the confetti from the roof looked like loose diamonds, according to my daughter who was watching from a distance.

Well, if that’s the case, I would be the first to catch a few :D

How Do You Spell Daytona

Our son loves playing racing games and watching racing sports. Currently his favorite is the first season of the Bullrun Season 1 which he watches on DVD. He watched the whole season twice already ;)

So when we were having our Memory Drill games yesterday with two of my students, I was surprised he misspelled “Daytona” when he himself associated the word/place with “Nascar” (yes, where we see those Nascar jackets with a lot of colorful logos) when one of the boys he was having the drills with asked what Daytona is. (The word in the drill was Dayton, actually)

Frankly, I was disappointed when all of them misspelled Daytona since this is one of the racing games they can see in the arcades.

When I reminded them that they all said “Ay, tama!” (That’s right!) Yeah right :D

Volkswagen Beetle

photohunter

Bulky Challenger Tube Cars here in this entry.

Do you know what this sign means?

Volkswagen emblem

Yes, it is a Volkswagen emblem on a Beetle that has no photo of the body, boooo to me :D

Bulky, yes it is and it can seat a lot of people inside especially when one sits on another’s lap since it has a tall roof. Its true! I’ve seen that on TV for what car can seat the most number of people inside and if what I remember is right, the VW Beetle won ;)

Fast Cars

Fast cars. My children love these: car shows, racing games, and car toys. They do not settle for those mind-boggling/out-of-this-world designs but instead opt for real car designs.

fast cars

Can you name the make (and if you are good with these, model) of these cars? Except the last two on the bottom of course :D

Great weekend to y’all!
