Tomica Nissan GT-R

One of the latest finds at the favorite toy store: Tomica Nissan GT-R.

Tomica

Photo is first posted here.

The children know what car models to buy and they don’t settle for those outrageous designs that are not “real cars”. Most often, we give in to them and get these toys for them, not because these are not expensive, but because they know cars well.

Even if I’d rather they hurry up so the husband can look over wholesale shoes at a newly opened store that sell these things, I know it is a lost cause when we are in the section of toy stores with these little treasures.

Ride: Subaru

My son loves cars. Not just ordinary cars but muscle cars, powerful ones, and Formula 1. His love for cars goes beyond form, brand and make. His love for cars is equated with numbers, dates and statistics related to these but I will not delve into these deep waters, lol.

He loves to watch car races and particularly enjoy a few shows like this one with a Subaru.

Don’t we want to have something like that? ^Or would you want to even just ride in one?

I know I would love to ride in one and I know I would enjoy sitting in one with subaru seat covers. Would you want to do that too?

Road Trip

Road trips are enjoyable. Whenever we have the chance to go on one, we savor the experience like it is our first road trip.

Road Trip

How to prepare for a road trip with children in tow?

  • bring plenty of food that won’t spill nor make the tummies feel queasy
  • bring lots of water in containers where one can easily drink from with minimum or no spillage
  • dress appropriately
  • check your vehicle and make sure you won’t be needing roadside assistance plans in a remote area where buildings/homes are few and far in between
  • make sure all mobile phones are charged and/or bring chargers that you can use while in transit

I am sure there are a lot more tips that make sense when traveling with children. But one thing for sure, road trips are memorable experiences 🙂

FYI: photo was retouched to enhance the colors, difficult to take road photos at dusk when in mobile with a small camera 🙂

More Car Show Photos

Car shows do not just showcase new rides, new products and services, lovely ladies and colorful paints. Car shows showcase intricate light arrangements to play on the cars’ features and highlights.

Below are some photos featuring the play of light, taken from a car show we attended last summer.

Porsche 911

I’m sure a lot of guys out there would love to give this mean machine a try. The car? A Porsche 911.

Why, even our President got himself a pre-owned Porsche but that is a different story altogether.

A car is a car but a Porsche? Who would call a Porsche a car? It is a Porsche, whether it’s a 911, a GT3, Carrera GT or even the Cayenne.

It feels like it has testosterone supplements in the gasoline that keeps it revving. But nah, the machine is superb and the brand wouldn’t come a long way if that’s not the case. Even little guys who love fast cars love Porsche.

Walter Roehrl, a rally legend during the 70s and 80s and a senior test driver for Porsche said that the engine so so good and “That is the reason I like this car, because it’s not the power, it’s the response of this car.”

Press Release for 7-Eleven’s 500th store:

(Please click on the figure to enlarge)

The number “500” is a magical number for the world’s most popular convenience store chain. The opening of 7-Eleven‘s 500th store in Eton Centris in Quezon City marks, not only the steady growth and expansion of the brand locally, but also the chain’s loyalty to its promise to deliver excellent service and quality products to its consumers and franchisers. But the magic of the number 500 does not end there. In celebration of the opening of their 500th store, 7-Eleven also wants to give back to the Filipino community, who has remained faithful and staunch customers since the launch of its first store in 1984, with a special biking tour aptly named the 7-Eleven Tour 500. This inspiring advocacy was created to provide a safe and fun venue for biking enthusiasts of all ages (experienced and non-experienced bikers alike) to enjoy the world through two wheels, while helping those in need and the less fortunate by giving back to chosen charities. The company itself has its own group of experienced bikers who train and joins nationwide competitions.
