Healthy Human Water Bottles

We love our Healthy Human water bottles. There is no need to add ice cubes in it because the water is still cold after 8 hours has passed. It is sturdy and the matte finish is good to avoid little scratches. It has a soft cloth cover for each but I bought another cover with handle that can be used as shoulder strap from the Japan thrift stores.

We got the 21oz insulated stainless steel water bottles.

The fundraising is one event for this WWF-Philippines ambassador to spread awareness on pressing environmental issues and introduce the Individual Donor Program or IDP. Janine, as one of the newest celebrity ambassadors of WWF-Philippines has supported activities like Earth Hour, Sustainable Food, Sustainable Future Fundraising Dinner, Partners’ Night 2017 and a site visit to Dobson, Sorsogon.

Janine said that “I am so glad that I am doing a lot more now to protect our environment. Our activities at WWF-Philippines encourages everyone, especially the youth, to take an active role in protecting and preserving our planet because together we can make everything possible.”

Luckily Chinatown is a perfect venue for the fundraising event because it has partnered up with WWF-Philippines for its Panda-themed holidays. “Adopt-a-Panda” campaign allows shoppers to take home a panda stuffed toy, a WWF pin, and an official adoption certificate for Php500.00. All proceeds will go to WWF-Philippines’ conservation programs. The “Adopt-a-Panda” campaign runs till December 31, 2017.

Contributions to the WWF-Philippines will help the campaigns and projects in the conservation of the natural habitats, resources and ecosystems in the country as it carries out its mission to build a future where Filipinos live in harmony with nature.

Philips MOM for Moms

One of the Sustainable Growth Development goals of the Philippine government is to reduce maternal death rate. As of 2015, 162 deaths per 100,000 live births have been recorded and that is too high. The Millenium Development Goal target however is as low as 52 deaths pero 100,000 live births.

There are three contributing factors to maternal death, which is a major concern of  the Department of Health:

1. Delays in reaching appropriate health centers

2. Delays in health care provisions for expectant mothers

3. Delays in seeking medical help

Caroline Clarke, CEO for Philips ASEAN Pacific

Philips is a leading health care technology that has been in the Philippines for more than 60 years and has worked tirelessly to help prevent, treat and empower Filipinos. Philips has been presented an opportunity to introduce and innovative solution to address the root causes of the high maternal mortality rate in the country.

Philips MOM for Moms” campaign aims to raise awareness about maternal mortality problems in the Philippines. This campaign aims to show the potential of mobile technology to address these problems and to empower Filipino moms to stay healthy during pregnancy.

Philips MOM for Moms is Mobile Obstetrics Monitoring, a web portal app that aims to monitor pregnancies through its mobile app

Philips MOM for Moms aims to help the Philippines achieve its goal in lowering maternal death rate through the use of this app that can help mo it or the conditions of pregnant Filipino women who live far from the health centers. Mobile connectivity is something we rely on for communication so this is a good way to be able to reach out to those in need of pregnancy and health-related monitoring.

Quorn Non-Meat Grounds Recipe

We love Quorn non-meat grounds. It is like meat, only it isn’t. The texture is like meat and if cooked correctly, it doesn’t feel and taste like a non-meat ingredient. The kids and the hubby do not complain but instead say that it feels like they are eating meat, that is not meat.

Quorn is made with Mycoprotein, a fermented, natural, nutritious fungus taken from the soil. Mycoprotein is high in protein, high in fiber, low in saturated fat, and has no cholesterol. It’s texture is just like meat without the oil “sebo” effect when the cooked food turns cold.

Here are a few recipes I have made with the Quorn non-meat grounds:

Slowcooked Lasagna:

Sautéed with onions, garlic, a little vegetable oil and cooked with carrots and potatoes:

Sautéed with onions and garlic, cooked with fresh brown mushroom and tomato sauce. Add cooked penne pasta for a pasta meal.

Locally Blended Juice Drink Tamarind my Bell

Tamarind My Bell (sings Tamarind my beeeell…). Ok, sorry about that.

My daughter got this from the supermarket. She says it tastes great! This was not the first time she had the drink.

Tamarind My Bell is a distinct Filipino flavor with tamarind as the base of this locally blended juice drink. Locally sourced tamarind from the provinces like Pampanga, Bulacan and Zambales, this is a refreshing drink. It tastes sweet and sour and has a blend that’s kinda unique. For those who love tamarind, a sweet and sour fruit for eating fresh or used as condiment, this is for you.

It kinda reminds me of happy times under the big sampaloc tree in the compound where my grandparents lived. The tree was a witness to our growing up years and to countless family lunches and get-togethers. It would take around 3-4 people with outstretched arms to get the span of the tree trunk. Yep, that big. Not sure though if still yields fruit because we can’t go near it anymore.

Anyway, there are still 2 or 3 more flavors from this line of blended juices and we hope to try the other two (or more!) flavors. The bottles are eco-friendly and can be reused.

My daughter gives her two thumbs up to Tamarind My Bell Locally Blended Juice Drink.

We now use the bottles from these juices for drinking water instead of using glasses.
