Rainy Days Are Here

The nights are colder now and rarely do I hear the complaint “it’s hot” from people. The rains, torrential and like cats and dogs most of the time, just when the children are on their way home from school, are at times too much to handle.

To those living in higher altitude, I guess it is time to bring out those heated mattress pads. For us who are in the lowlands, we minimize the use of electrical appliances that make the rooms cool since there is a lot of cool air circulating around.

Every afternoon, strong rains beat down on us. A lot of people are getting sick because from morning till mid-afternoon the sun is shining so brightly but the rains come down from mid-afternoon till evening.

How can one prepare for the rainy days to avoid getting sick?

  1. Take plenty of vit c love, be these in tablet form or from fresh sources.
  2. Get enough sleep and eat the right kind of food.
  3. Bring your umbrella and/or raincoat and/or rain gear every time you step out of your house.
  4. Rest if you fell unwell.
  5. Consult a doctor for persistent cough, flu, fever and/or runny nose.

Bracelet a Breloques

My colorful  Bracelet a Breloques which I ordered from and made by a good friend of mine.

Bracelet a Breloques

I love it and so did my eldest daughter so she had me ask Gelli to make her a set with the colors of her choice: pink, black and purple.

Happy weekend!

It’s Been Awhile

It has been awhile, no, it has been a long time since we last went to our family biking/walking/running bonding time.

Sunday

The thule rack is dusty and so are the bikes. The kids still can’t ride without training wheels and that is something not to be proud of because they are not that young anymore.

I always tell the family, next Sunday we will go do these things again but sleep, that elusive sleep wins over more than anything including breakfast and the need to be fit.

I always tell myself, tomorrow, I will start my early morning walking routine but then either the online lure is more powerful or the bed is pulling me back to its soft comfort.

On Sunday, we will do something different and I am hoping even with the lack of preparation, my legs are up to the task even if I still feel pain from walking and hiking for two days with my school children.

Bike for Charity in the 7-Eleven Tour 500

Press Release for 7-Eleven’s 500th store:

(Please click on the figure to enlarge)

The number “500” is a magical number for the world’s most popular convenience store chain. The opening of 7-Eleven‘s 500th store in Eton Centris in Quezon City marks, not only the steady growth and expansion of the brand locally, but also the chain’s loyalty to its promise to deliver excellent service and quality products to its consumers and franchisers. But the magic of the number 500 does not end there. In celebration of the opening of their 500th store, 7-Eleven also wants to give back to the Filipino community, who has remained faithful and staunch customers since the launch of its first store in 1984, with a special biking tour aptly named the 7-Eleven Tour 500. This inspiring advocacy was created to provide a safe and fun venue for biking enthusiasts of all ages (experienced and non-experienced bikers alike) to enjoy the world through two wheels, while helping those in need and the less fortunate by giving back to chosen charities. The company itself has its own group of experienced bikers who train and joins nationwide competitions.
