Greens on our Table

Theme: Green

I love greens, from the raw vegetable salad to the greens like camote tops, malunggay leaves, pechay and others that go with other food cooked as viand. As a healthy alternative, I personally prepare my own vegetable salad for my consumption. This is way less expensive than if I have to buy those that are ready-made.

One of my favorite salads is made up of just (Romaine) lettuce, slices of tomatoes and carrots, diced cheese, (sliced boiled egg) and tuna.

Most of the time I do not even put any dressing because some of the dressings are rather fattening.

This is a photo of our Italian Oregano plant:

Reflection on the Moat

Every Saturday, participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday is REFLECTION.

This is my other entry.

I decided to post a photo of these ducks standing on a piece of a Styrofoam board that I saw floating on the moat at the entrance of Fort Santiago which I earlier featured here.

They are cute, aren’t they?

I am not sure though what kind of ducks these are. Ducks are not that common here in the Philippines, especially in the urban areas. I remember one of my grandmothers had a small pond where white ducks and some geese would swim when the weather is hot. I wouldn’t go near these though because the geese would always run after me.

Why Do You Call on God?

Why do you call on God? Why do you pray?

Do you call on God when you want to have a favor granted?

Do you talk to God when you want to ask for guidance before any decision is made?

Do you talk to God only when you are besieged with problems?

Do you talk to God to offer thanksgiving because He has been great to you and has made your life wonderful?

Do you talk to God just because? Whenever you feel like it, whenever you feel His power speaking to you, His greatness making you gush with awe and admiration, you talk to God.

20th Day

Today is the twentieth day of NaBloPoMo or National Blog Posting Month. I have signed up with this, hoping to  write posts on a daily basis. Thank God for time-stamping because I wouldn’t have been able to put posts on a daily basis.

Some of the posts that I have in this blog have been written last month when I had a few days vacation or in other words, these have been time stamped. I have these time-stamped in my NaBloPoMo page too.

Some are scheduled posts that I intend to do regularly in this blog, since I am running out of ideas about what I want to write about.

So how have I been so far with this writing?

It’s Like History

We had a lunch picnic last Sunday. We took a lot of photos. Hubby tried to capture the trees around us in black and white.

When we were looking at the photos, one of my kids said “It’s like history” referring to the black and white photos.

Here is a sample of one of the photos that he referred to:

Yes, this photo reminds people about the past, when we, as children, loved to run around, climb trees, sweat it out and play games with our friends.

Children these days have it differently. Continue Reading »
