Our two younger kids joined an online contest last year launched by Del HypoAllergenic Fabric Softener. And they won!
We promised them their own laptop IF they do what is asked of them which was fairly easy: to dance. Dance they did and we won, yipee!
They have been bugging us when we are going to get the promised gadget for them and I know it is gonna be soon since we already got the price money.
Kids these days, they don’t ask for simpler things anymore, they like techie stuff 😀

Two friends related how their emails (both from the same email platform) have been hacked. Of course, the one who hacked the email sent spam messages to their contacts.
Hubby’s email was almost compromised too, and yes, from the same services that the first two used.
So, if people get laptop insurance, they should also protect their email addresses (and files!) from being compromised to avoid phishing and becoming victims of identity theft.
Here are a few tips that might help on how to protect your emails from getting hacked:
- avoid predictable passwords like your birthdate, Social Security number, birthdates of your children, maiden names, name of spouse, wedding anniversary date (these information can be easily hunted down for the purpose of getting your account hacked)
- use letters and numbers and special characters in your passwords
- do not disclose your login details and passwords to others (maybe unless in dire emergencies)
- clear the cache or your browsing history if you are using an internet cafe
- NEVER click on links that seem suspicious
Be net savvy and safe!

April is a few days away and this would mean car re-registration, auto insurance quotes and a badly needed fresh coat of paint and body works, among others.
Below is one of the cars that the children have a liking to, Subaru Impreza WRX STI. No, that almost new car with a fresh coat of paint is NOT our car. Wish it is though 😀
We have watched Russ Swift drive a Subaru Impreza WRX STI for Precision Driving demo. See the J turns and donuts that this car can do on the pavement.
Awesome power.
Fresh fruits, another entry, here.

2010 is starting great in this household despite losing granduncle before the New Year and me having a sprained ankle. Water connection has improved thanks to the almost non-stop digging which made me stop going to my morning rounds (excuses, excuses). Now we are complaining the water pressure is too strong, lol!
Internet connection is better too. Hubby is now thinking about rearranging the home office furniture here in the library just in case, JUST IN CASE, we are able to afford a new pc or a netbook.
Hmmm…
I may need to work harder then and save more for that day to be here the soonest possible 😀

Since I am unable to move and be up and about, I got to reading a lot of year-ender articles. I absolutely love these article summing up what has happened. There are topics and issues that are familiar and there are those I just encountered just now.
I have been reading about the decade’s cybercrimes when I got to open several tabs which made me search for diamonds and in turn made me read about NatGeo’s SuperDiamonds.
I don’t know, there is just something about crime and diamonds that go together.
Oh well, now I am off to read more. Who knows, I might learn something new today and I am sure I will 🙂

Or should those Christmas cards been mailed a few weeks ago?
I think the art of sending handwritten Christmas cards and letters is now lost because of the new technology that keeps people connected in more ways than one.
I love receiving Christmas photo cards. I told myself that the kids will do these handwritten cards but the truth is, we haven’t started yet.
Last year’s Christmas craft projects like photo ornaments and gift cards went underway early. I know I am to blame because I have been too busy with not so important things and have neglected this aspect of our routine.
I hope it is not too late to start these projects.
