Digital Blood Pressure Monitor

When the hubby had registered a high blood pressure reading, one of the things he had to have was a blood pressure monitor. He got ALP K2 digital blood pressure monitor because none of us know how to use the more expensive old school.

Below is my blood pressure reading (for all the world to see, lol) as of a few minutes ago:

It is a great help, regarding health matters, that some things like this digital blood pressure monitor and in some cases, ekg machines, are available to be used at home or in small clinics. Of course, having licensed medical professionals use this is still better. For monitoring purposes, I think these are not just handy but helpful as well.

Introducing: myBRO

I would never have guessed that reading blogs back in the mid 2000’s would get me hook to start my own. More than six years later, I have put up several blogs, got articles posted online here and there and hooked with Social Media trends like Twitter and Facebook.

I must say blogging has and still is a big part of who I am as a special education teacher, as a former homeschooling mom, as a hobbyist, a home-based short order cook and bits and pieces of things in between.

The internet is a big part of our life especially since the children do a lot of home work, research and those things that they do online. We are happy with our current internet connection but we are open to try newer and better internet connection to be able to maximize our needs to be digitally connected.

PLDT myBro

When I chanced upon myBRO, I got interested and here’s why:

MyBro

  • Bilis install. Now this is good especially if you really need that connection ASAP.
  • Reliable. Why not, this is PLDT and Smart after all.
  • Affordable. See below to see what myBRO has to offer and where to apply for a myBRO account.

Last June 26, the Fixed Wireless variants – Canopy and Wimax – will now have a new brand name under myBro.  This is now included under the HOME megabrand powered by PLDT and Smart.
If you want to get connected with myBRO, here are the myBRO subscriber’s system requirements:
  • Pentium IV or higher for Windows, Mac OS for Apple

  • 256 MB of RAM or higher

  • Ethernet/LAN Card

  • At least 10GB of Hard Disk Space.

  • Operating System: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Linux and Macintosh

Difference between myBRO and PLDT myDSL

Both myBRO and PLDT myDSL are high speed broadband internet services, and offer basically the same experience. PLDT myDSL utilizes PLDT’s telephone lines to deliver internet service, while myBRO utilizes its cellular network.

Where to apply for myBRO connection:

  • The Smart Bro service will be available for application at any Smart Stores or PLDT Business Office nationwide, or through any accredited Smart or PLDT sales agents.
  • You may learn more about the myBRO plans by visiting the any Smart Store, accredited PLDT Home reseller or calling *1888 from your Smart cellphone.

Draw Something App

We love playing Draw Something! Add me!  account name is TreasureJar 😉

I am not really good with drawing so I mostly use colors from my color palette. Here is an octopus I drew. Kraken!

Here is a colorful sunset I “drew”

Draw Something: Sunset

I’ve drawn picnic, Rihanna, Jordan, fireball, wildfire, golf club, golf ball logo, party hats, seashore, starfish, Ireland among others.

Even the children have fun drawing and if the words are easy enough, they get to draw too. My son even made an account using the hubby’s phone and we exchange drawings.

This is a good way to exercise those creative streaks we have long “hidden” because we are too busy with mundane work.

Now, I still have to buy a stylus for my tablet for better details, 😀

Times Are Changing

I’ve noticed something different about career choices of incoming college students these days: the courses have terms that sound different from when I was about to start college. A lot of people also choose to get online college degree rather than commute to school.

Whatever happened to the good old courses?

It seems like everyone ones to just be behind a desk in front of a computer, behind the cameras, stage and doing props of making things in digital form. Don’t these young people want to improve on the food sources and agricultural issues to increase food production? Or maybe discover a cure to lessen dengue fever or increase resistance to airborne diseases?

Times are changing yes, but if everyone wants to be the next big thing in digital arts media, who would take care of the sick? Who would teach the young ones? Who would manage the food sources?

Cover Versions

Among those who sing cover songs in YouTube, there is one we specifically love: Maddie Jane.

With today’s technology, it is easy to listen to songs we wouldn’t have access to years ago. In fact, upcoming bands and singers get easily recognized through the various means that people can listen to them. It is also easier to access their musical creations through music cd duplication.

To my aspiring little guitarist, I hope she also gets her break with the fickle-minded audience someday 🙂

Tracking Devices

We’ve bought a small gadget from an on-line discount vendor a few weeks ago. They emailed last week that delivery will be delayed. Ugh. Times like this I wish I can personally track the delivery progress, like they do with Santa during Christmas, 😀

The hubby’s work in relation to telcos enabled him to experience different kinds of mobile phones when mobile phone usage was in its infancy in the country during the late 90s. I particularly liked the Benefon units because of its many useful functions like the gps locator, safety of user in case of emergencies where he/she needs to be found and truck fleet tracking.

The mobile phones these days can do just that but those Benefon units were well ahead of its time.
