Running

I have been walking (with a little running in between) last month for a few days a week but this has stopped when we were ravaged by a super storm. I don’t know, I was somehow afraid to walk the streets where the flood waters flowed along šŸ™

I lost some weight while I was doing my morning rounds, I must say. On days I don’t go out, I try to do (an imitation) of sun salutation movements. Both when combined contributed to the little shrinking of ze waistline. That is until I stopped the routine.

And now I am back to the waistline that needs some trimming.

Ahhmm, I am tempted to do quick weight loss but I know I need more than that.

Why? I am looking at a goal, even if it the shortest distance. Oh well, it may be a possibility and I will not just keep my fingers crossed, I will get up and go out and start reaching for that goal, one step at a time.

Our Country Needs a Break

Next to summer vacation, Filipinos looks forward to Christmas vacation as a way to spend quality time with their families and loved ones.

I am sure a lot of travel plans have been worked out already not just orlando vacation rentals but trips to the nearby island resorts for some R and R.

If however, there is not even an iota of possibility that these kinds of fun vacations are possible for most of us, then let me just say we need a different kind of vacation, a break perhaps, from all these sufferings we have been through, we have witnessed the past few weeks.

I am sure after being battered, devastated, villages and homes buried, flooded and all else that will makeĀ  this nation and its peopleĀ  even more vulnerable has happened, we really need a breather from all of this.

I feel the suffering of my fellow Filipinos and I really pray hard that we will be able to surpass all these things that has happened.

I do not even want to think about the effects in the days to come considering those that were badly hit are agricultural lands.

I hope and pray that this break we need is not too much to ask, oh deal Lord.

Here by the way, as of this writing, is the latest report from ABS-CBN with a situation report from NDCC.

Typhoon Pepeng/Parma Caused Massive Flooding

We have been too focused on the ill-effects and devastation of Typhoon Ondoy/Ketsana effects that the devastation of Pepeng/Parma which pounded Northern Luzon for more than a week was not given due noticed until the devastation was widespread.

Massive flooding in so many places which not just affected crops but homes and businesses as well. There have also been a lot of casualties caused by landslides.

Sigh.

It would have been great if the government can provide mobile homes to our affected countrymen as temporary shelters but as it is, rescue boats, rubber boats are not even available to be used.

I sincerely hope rescue efforts will continue so help those who were affected.

I sincerely hope and pray that relief goods would reach the right people too.

Parma is Here

The country experienced one of the worst floods. It was so sudden that almost everyone was caught unaware.

We were so close to being affected by flood waters and we are thankful that prayers worked wonders. Now we pray even harder not only for our family but for others as well.

Our neighbors were not spared from the flood waters. As of today we can still see a lot of debris scattered on the streets because garbage trucks haven’t beenĀ  where we are the past week. Mattresses, wooden cabinets, books, electrical appliances like television, microwave ovens and even tv stands can be seen on the road.

Now as our country is being battered by yet another (category 5) supertyphoon, we can’t say we are ready for another round of rains.

God bless this country.

Supertyphoon Parma aka Pepeng: Signal No 4?

With hundreds of lives lost during the typhoon Ondoy or typhoon Ketsana, perhaps some people are now thinking if they were able to get life insurance for their lost loved ones, everything would have been easier to deal with.

Not that I am saying what happened was easy but it could have made dealing with issues easier.

Anyway, if you are interested to find term life insurance go here.

And nowĀ  we brace ourselves for another round of last week’s rains. Sigh.

God be with us.
