Lumpiang Shanghai

Lumpiang Shanghai

The kids love these crunchy rolls dipped in sweet and sour sauce. This is a must-have in a nearby “old style eatery” (ala panciteria) that serve Chinese-inspired food.

Coupled with a bowl of warm noodles, this is a simple meal that will surely warm tummies during rainy days.

Parties by Lets Paint D Town Red

Yesterday we attended a third birthday party and a baptism celebration rolled into one during the two celebrators’ dad’s birthday. What a triple treat!

Yes, it is a treat to attend a party and events planner‘s party. Hurray to you Kim, your parties are getting grander year after year!

Magic show. Festive decorations. Photo wall with free photos to take home. Dog show. The works! and yes, lots of cool giveaways to the kids.

In one party I attended (NOT Kim’s), play areas are stationed throughout the venue for the kids to play and win prizes. One would think, they could even set up ping pong tables there, or maybe arcade games but that would defeat the purpose of the guests being entertained as a group.

Everything to keep the guests entertained are there and yes, we were entertained indeed.

Just in case you want to have your party done this way, contact Kim here.

Artificial Christmas Tree

I would love to have a real Christmas tree but living in warm tropical-like country, that is not a possibility (unless I order real trees from overseas and pay a fortune which I would never do).

So here is a part of our artificial Christmas tree with home-made ribbon decors and paper stuff that the children made:

A few more days to go and we usher in the -ber months.

Yes, Christmas is near.

25 Photos

These photos were for a photo scavenger hunt (different from the Saturday Photo Hunter meme that I participate) that I plan to join but was not able to.

Some photos included were taken by my 13yo daughter.

Sunflowers are very bright and lovely flowers

3. Laughter

Going down a slide is pure happiness

4. Relaxation

A respite and shade from the noon heat

5. A Celebration

Christmas, ‘tis the season of joy and love.

6. A Sunset

7. Sun/Lens Flare

Sun flare being blocked by a big leaf

8.  A Bridge

Would you dare cross that hanging bridge? No, there are no crocodiles lying in wait just in case you fall down but then, that would double the fun, wouldn’t it? (Photo taken by my 13yo daughter)

9.  A Shadow

Wouldn’t you know, it is almost high noon but because of the shadows cast by the trees, this road is quite shady and still cool for a walk.

10.  A Garden

My MIL‘s home garden (Photo taken by my 13yo daughter)

Blame it on the Alcohol

I have not tried cooking food with anything that has sherry or white wine or whatever it is they put that has some alcoholic content. Maybe soon, I will.

We are not wine drinkers, hubby and I.

Here is a photo taken by my eldest daughter during a brownout while they were on vacation with my MIL:

That blue liquid in the glass is Gatorade by the way  🙂

I remember this super-asim pickled green mango that I tasted, Super yummy! The one who made it used beer pala. Hmmm…. I didn’t know that, haha.
