Piano Lessons

My husband is a piano player, having had formal lessons when he was younger. I did have formal lessons but the skills weren’t fully developed maybe because we didn’t have a piano where I can practice or maybe because I do not have the necessary talent and skills that go with it. I rest my case ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, our two children are quite good with the scales even if they haven’t had formal training. We do have several piano sheet music for them though they do not use it when they play. The play the piano mostly by ear.

Below is my youngest daughter practicing the scales:

Yes, she can play some tunes but can not read notes yet ๐Ÿ™‚ maybe this year since she will be in first grade already.

Open Your Mouth and Say “Ahhhh…”

My children need to visit a dentist soon. Some of their teeth need tending. We have been dentist shopping too for the last five years and have been to three dentists. Of course I wish to have a regular dentist to go to, whether he is a Plano Dentist or someone who is geographically closer to home.

I believe that dentists play a big role in teaching about oral hygiene and taking care of the teeth. For children, it is not easy to open their mouth and say “ahhh…” to strangers wearing masks and holding things for poking the mouth.

There should be a trust, a bonding that should develop first before they sit on that big dental chair ๐Ÿ™‚

Twister Game

It is summer in this part of the world.

Summer means the children are not in school so parents should think of ways to keep the children entertained, occupied and challenged.

One of the games children can play with is the Twister Game. Below is a Twister game being played with my son as one of the players.

This game not only tests their ability to listen and follow instructions but it also tests their flexibility and resistance. It also is a good way to let them think creatively on how they would make themselves more comfortable without breaking their hold on the colored circles ๐Ÿ™‚

Elmer’s Glue All

Elmer’s Glue All Multi-Purpose Glue is what we use with the homeschooling children.

We use this glue for our crafts, for gluing photos, for additional enrichment activities. This also works best with other projects requiring the use of glue.

As with other products, it is best to practice good precautions regarding safety. Click here to read about Elmer’s Glue All MSDS or Material Safety Data Sheet.
