TreasureJarFind: Tori Chizu

One of the places we love to go to for filling and delicious food is Tori Chizu. This is located at the second floor of TriNoma Mall. I am not sure if the store has other branches though.

Anyway, I have already brought 2 friends there and they love it.

Photo with my cousin, October 2018

My personal favorite is the Chicken Teriyaki which has gooey cheese on top of the chicken balls and rice.

(Photo from December 2018)

The hubby likes the ramen while the kids love the fried chicken and other Doria meals.

Expect to pay 150 – 200 per person.

Photo from March 2019. Yes, we remove the green onions because my hubby is allergic to these.

This is not a paid advertisement, we’ve paid for all the food we ordered during several times we’ve been there.

Stop Pangingilo with Gumtect Toothpaste

With the holidays upon us, Christmas get togethers are happening. Aside from gift giving, celebrating friendships and meaningful relationships, bonding over lovingly prepared food is one of the things we look forward to during this season.

But wait… if you have DENTAL HYPERSENSITIVITY  or PANGINGILO, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the scrumptious food prepped for the celebrations you have been invited to.

Masakit mga mamsh. Pangingilo is something you don’t want to feel especially when you have so much #platefuloffun served for you!

Do you know that pangingilo or dental hypersensitivity begins when the inner part of the tooth is uncovered through gum receding, over-brushing and eating acidic food? So, hinay hinay lang mga mamsh, because according to a study in 2011 by the National Monitoring and EvaluationDental Survey, 48% of our kababayans suffer some form of gum disease. That means not being able to enjoy ice cream, halo-halo, ramen, bulalo, sisig, ok you got the idea.

Doug and Cheska Kramer, oral healthcare advocates for Gumtect reiterates how important it is to take care of your teeth and gums. “I want to maximize my bonding moments with my family, enjoying food like ice cream and buco salad. I want to be able to indulge in my favorite holiday dishes without having to think about pangingilo.”

And yes, if you are a parent, start your children young in being able to take good care of their oral health.

More videos here.

Pangingilo, singaw and ngi-pain are really not so cool. Watch this video.

Yikes!

Just like the Kramers, our family loves to eat (all these #platefuloffun photos are my food prep!) and what better way to enjoy these food if pangingilo gets in the way. I did a special video highlighting some of the recent food preps I made that we really enjoy because we have switched back to Gumtect Toothpaste. Gumtect toothpaste has been prescribed to us by a dentist back when it was just a new product in the market.

Pangingilo doesn’t just happen during the holiday season fun. It can strike you when your teeth has not been receiving the proper oral healthcare that it should.

Dr. JV Jaurigue, External Vice President of the Philippine Society of Periodontology said that “Oral care is essential to our health. Rather than dealing with complications and difficulties with gum diseases, it is better to orevent these from happening.” Ayan, the good dentist has spoken, take care of your teeth not just for the pangingilo but for the complications that go with unhealthy oral hygiene.

Gumtect Brand Marketing Manager, Atria Casidsid also encourages people to use especially formulated Gumtect toothpaste to help promote healthy gums so that gum problems would not get in the way of holiday fun, and everyday food fun as well.

Gumtect Gumcare is the only gumcare toothpaste with GUMSHIELD+ that has Allantoin, which improves the conditions of the gums. It also has Vitamin E which moisturizes gums and Triclean that reduces the formation of plaque and shield against harmful mouth bacteria. Gumtect Sensitive meanwhile has a Dynamic Desensitizing System that helps relive sensitive teeth. Both Gumtect Sensitive (in red!) and Guntect Gumcare (in blue!) also have Active Anti-Cavity Protection for fresh breath and strong teeth enamel.

Reusable Containers for Meats

🛒
I brought some reusable containers with me when we went to the supermarket last week. These were ice cream tub, cream cheese tub and two microwaveable containers from takeout food. I first went to a Magnolia Chicken station but they refused to use my containers saying they will still put the chicken in plastic and it would be up to me to transfer in my containers. What’s the point, I wanted to use my containers to avoid using plastic that I will be throwing anyway. Staff said in their meeting, they will only use their branded plastic because their sales are based on the usage of plastic but how? Some like me, I used to ask for big extra ones when I buy more than 2 bags of chicken. Is that counted? That is even extra expenses on the company, on me, with the added burden of adding more plastic to the trash pile.
🛒
I then went to another meat shop, Tender Lean, when I noticed that they were using unbranded plastic bags for the meats. The staff was accommodating. He weighed my containers first before putting in the meats. Good job, Tender Lean meatshop. The staff said he knew what to do because they have clients who bring their own containers when they buy meats.

🛒
I will try this next to a meat shop near us because I know the staff there. I hope they will be more open to the idea.
🛒
We are not really big consumers of meat especially during the summer months. This batch will probably last us two weeks because I mostly use a small amount of meat for sautéing as can be seen in my #platefuloffun food photos.

Robatayaki Izakaya Nobunaga

If you are in Manila and you are craving for Japanese food, head over to Robatayaki Izakaya Nobunaga sushi restaurant at 1644 A. Mabini Street, Malate, Manila.

The servings are big, hindi tinipid ang ingredients.

The ingredients are fresh. The taste is just right. My katsudon was crunchy and sa totoo lang, I had a hard time eating the whole order because the size is big.

The prices are reasonable. Expect to pay 800-1,000 for 2-3 people.

The place is big and there are enough tables to seat around approximately 40 people or even more. Photo taken around opening time.

The eating area is cool. You can see the food preparation in the open kitchen. There is parking for around 3-4 cars in front. You can also see a lot of Japanese eating in this restaurant.  The owner is usually in the restaurant overseeing the operations.

For more information, visit their Facebook Page: Robatayaki Izakaya Nobunaga
Opening hours: 11AM – 2AM
