I don’t know if the “Buy HGH” doctor’s order is acceptable to some people. There are some things that are quite difficult to accept regarding one’s age.
If there is a real fountain of youth, then perhaps people will be at each other’s neck to be able to get to it first.
Aging is inevitable.
Being a teacher dealing with young children (and several tweens), I have to feel young, have a know-how with what’s in and what’s hot. Sometimes it irritates me when people acknowledge me and say “opo” or call me “tita” or worse, “mommy” -> duh, hindi kita anak no?! LOL.
Ho do we age gracefully? Here are a few tips on aging gracefully:
Have a positive outlook in life.
Surround yourself with loved ones who will not just support you but will accept you and all your little flaws.
Be mentally alert by constantly learning new things and re-learning other skills you may have forgotten along the way.
Take charge of your life by planning ahead.
There are times when I feel young and vibrant and full of new dreams to conquer. There are also times when I feel old and tired. But when I look at my family, I know there’s so much to live for and I want to live longer while I age gracefull, all for them.
Interesting topic for me because weight is one of the most talked about topics among women friends, next to makeup and beauty tips, love life for the singles and kids for the moms, the hunt for the best progesterone cream for those who are within the age range, home management tips for the married ones and the best hip places to hang out for those who want to relax. Topics are in no particular order of importance.
What about my thoughts on the article?
I think I am in denial too. I am guilty of giving myself a “reward” because I burned calories when I go to my Zumba class and/or when I get home from a tiring day of work. Yep, the reward brings back the calories I’ve burned when I should have been rewarding myself hooping time instead because it makes me happy too. Gah!
I don’t know how much I weigh, I haven’t stepped on a scale for a long time.

We don’t just clean because we want our homes to look nice. We clean because we don’t want to get sick from diseases from unsanitary and ewww dirty sources.
According to a USAID 2008 data, 77.8 billion pesos are lot every year due to poor sanitation. Not only that, if only we have a clean and sanitized surroundings, 1 life for every 20 seconds can be saved.
“I clean. I save.” This is what the Philippine Spring Cleaning Day aims: clean and sanitized homes to prevent an outbreak of infectious diseases.
We can expect 24 to 36 degrees Celsius today, and residents may want to keep out of exposure to the sun between 2 and 3 p.m. -PAGASA
The heat is unbearable. We registered a scorching 36 degrees at 3pm today, if what I read was right. The bed, the furniture, almost everything one touches feel hot especially during early afternoons.
There it goes again, the heat wave. I’m afraid of these scheduled power interruptions because power supplies can’t support the load. Should we consider getting honda generators soon?
On second thought, I’d rather experience heat than have strong rains that contribute to flooding and destruction.
If we need allergies and dengue fever to clean up, then we have to change the way we clean our surroundings by developing good cleaning habits. How?
Set a schedule for cleaning AND disinfecting to kill those disease-causing organisms.
Put together cleaning supplies in one place for easier access. Seeing these together will inspire you to clean up.
Pick up those clothes on the floor and put them in laundry bins.
Cleaning also involves discarding those junk things that you are holding on to. “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” so they say. Why not try to clean out your closets and give clothes that have not been worn for over three years? What about those books gathering dust? I’m sure someone else will be happy to get those things from you. I do this every so often much to the chagrin of my better half 😀
Try to have indoor plants in your home for a touch of green. Tried it but plants died so I just have a small garden outdoors.
Fix your bed and change the sheets often to avoid disease-causing bacteria. When the sun is hot, try to “air” the pillows as a way to kill those germs.
Sort your trash. We do sorting in this household, putting together those that can be recycled like plastic bottles, plastic wraps, boxes, cans, and foils and giving them to my cleaning lady (who incidentally just finished cleaning the yard a while ago). Our left-over food (if there are any) and peelings go together..
Get those cleaning agents and disinfectants from the supermarket shelves straight to the barcode scanner cashiers and don’t hesitate to get them. You’ll be needing these for cleaning up. You paid for these therefore you won’t have second thoughts not using them, right?
Be part of the first public and private initiative for cleaning and sanitation and join Lysol and its partner organizations as they celebrate the first-ever Philippine Spring Cleaning Day on May 11.
