Private Matters

People are happy to finally find their long-lost elementary or high school classmates in Facebook. Isn’t it exciting to finally get in touch with these people after a long time?

Of course! you say. And so you share your intimate details in your page for everyone’s perusal: birthdate, employers, pages, organizations you like, TV shows you watch, photos of your families, photos of yourself, your email addresses, your mobile numbers and even your home address.

No problem these people are your friends, you say. Ok then, your call.

Problem happens when your friends have friends who can see you and have not-so-good plans after seeing your lovely grand home and reading that you will be away from a vacation for several days.

That is probably worse than writing about the need for a cure for herpes read by your partner.

Strangers can see and read those too because I happened to read and saw a LOT of these status updates and photos that are best kept hidden from strangers.

You don’t know what I am talking about? Check your privacy setting. Hide your tagged photos from people you don’t want looking at them.

Better yet, read the Six Things You Should Never Reveal in Social Networking Sites.

Rip, Pour and Shake with Tang Pick & Go

There was a lot of excitement and curiosity over “Help Xyriel Find Her Missing Lunch Box” billboard ads and flyers.   Xyriel Manabat‘s Mission: Lunchbox was launch simultaneously in three key cities.

Missing Lunchbox

Kids from all over Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao helped Agua Bendita and Momay child star Xyriel Manabat find her lost lunchbox.

Tang Pick & Go

They played games, designed their own lunchboxes and won exciting prizes.

Opening of the Missing LunchBox

When that most-wanted (and lost) lunchbox was finally opened and Xyriel Manabat came out of it, everyone discovered the surprise: Tang Pick & Go juice drink concentrate, perfect for a refreshing drink anytime, anywhere.

Tang Pick & Go

Tang Pick & Go sachets are available in three variants: pineapple, orange and mangga. These Tang Pick & Go sachets are convenient enough to prepare a juice drink wherever one is, just RIP, POUR and SHAKE contents in a 330-ml water bottle.

TANG PICK&GO

Tang Pick & Go sachets are available at your nearby sari-sari store and groceries and supermarkets at SRP PhP3.00.

Roses from Island Rose

I had the chance to visit Island Rose rose farm a few days ago with other bloggers and print media people. Island Rose is a premier rose grower in the Philippines.

Island Rose

Island Rose has state of the art greenhouse facilities that house their fresh and beautiful roses that can be ordered through an efficient and easy e-commerce means though islandrose.net.

The greenhouses are computer controlled where there are mist fans providing mist, roofs that automatically close if there are changes in the weather and weather station that provides data necessary to grow these roses. The ideal temperature would be around 26 degrees and not more than 30 degrees inside the greenhouses.

Every year, Island Rose produces over two million roses.  It ships around five thousand roses in the country daily from their rose farm to your home.

Preparing Island Rose roses

There are twelve varieties of roses available. The three types of red roses are the Grand Rose (thornless, thick-stemmed and has dark red buds),  Red Giant (long straight-stemmed) and Red France (vibrant red petals). Osiana roses are peach-colored. Noseblesse roses have salmon pink petals. Vivaldi roses have very light pink petals. Texas roses have golden yellow buds. Christine roses have light yellow petals. Salsa roses are deep orange in color. Lambada roses have bright orange tones. Tineke roses are white and have thick-stems. Gloria roses have the purest white color.

You can check the website for the bouquet arrangement you want and include other items with the bouquet you wish to send your loved ones.

Pink Rose

The roses are licensed plants and each plant can produce maximum flowers within seven years. The roses are harvested three times a day at morning, noon and afternoon. No, these can’t be planted in your outdoor garden as these would not survive.

Thanks to the Andaya brothers Dustin and Arnold for the tour of Island Rose flower farm 🙂

Laptop for the Kids

Our two younger kids joined an online contest last year launched by Del HypoAllergenic Fabric Softener. And they won!

We promised them their own laptop IF they do what is asked of them which was fairly easy: to dance. Dance they did and we won, yipee!

They have been bugging us when we are going to get the promised gadget for them and I know it is gonna be soon since we already got the price money.

Kids these days, they don’t ask for simpler things anymore, they like techie stuff 😀
