Alkaline Water

Alkaline water is said to help flush away the body’s toxins.

I’m not entirely sure if this is the same as colon cleansing diet or those holiday binging inspired 5 or 7 Day cleansing diets.

We have been drinking alkaline water for months now and I must say that, gross it may be, our pee has increased and smells real bad. If these are toxins being flushed out, then I certainly don’t mind the smell at all if this will help keep us healthy.

Ah, Men

Virility and machismo are two big words that men take to heart. There are still those who think these are reduced when they are seen doing house chores like doing the dishes and cleaning the house, never mind if their wives are dead tired like them or is on about to give birth.

Some would, at the slightest problems, readily have natural male enhancement pills without the benefit of a doctor’s advice because knowing what’s wrong is not an alternative even if they have not been feeling well.

What are some of the characteristics of men which make them “brothers” aside from the real and/or imagined virility and machismo thoughts?

  • They would hem and haw if they are asked to see a doctor.
  • They refused to wear pastel colored clothes.
  • They think crying in public makes them less a man.
  • They would laugh at (married) men doing house chores because they are “under the saya

These are just some of the men characteristics that women find either amusing or annoying, depending on what their relationship is with them.

November 17: International UnFriend Day

Having been offline for almost the whole day yesterday, I missed this piece of news: Jimmy Kimmel announcing November 17 as International UnFriend Day. Not really a holiday but hey, this is interesting!

Not that I want to unfriend anyone from my Facebook or Twitter account. Ok, I admit I have some people in mind but why raise controversy when I could just:

  • hide their status update
  • ignore friendship request
  • NOT invite other people to become “friends” with me when I don’t like them in the first place.

I’m sure the third part has some people feel that way with me, I know them and I don’t really care even if they are friends with my children and NOT with me. Their loss to miss out on my interesting links, lol.

Fine with me too to not be in contact, albeit virtually, with some people because I might be tempted to tell write on their wall to stop posting their photos if they don’t get acne laser treatment first. Ok, mean joke.

Who would you want to unfriend, just in case?

Moringa Nutrients

Yes, the “lowly” green vegetable called “Moringa” or Malunggay in Philippine vernacular is one of the most nutritious vegetable there is.

Not only does moringa increase breast milk production, it is also a rich source of nutrients.

Moringa can also be used as a detoxifying agent as well as extender to many dishes.

I’ve read that people in Africa has been planting moringa trees to include in the diet to counter malnutrition. And yes, we’d be having more of moringa in our viands 🙂

Action-Packed Sunday

This Sunday is one that is action-packed.

First off, time will stop for those who will be glued to their super delayed telecast to watch Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao fight off his opponent in boxing. While others go to their favorite bars, sports bars, movie houses, and gyms, others will listen to their radio for the live update. We won’t go anywhere, even if I got two tickets to the fight, we will just look for a livestream.

My youngest daughter wanted to watch but hubby said no for they would be in a crowd full of males. She loves sports and would always wear her favorite nfl t shirts or her running shirt.

My son is not interested in boxing, too bloody and violent for him, he says. He’d rather watch the Formula One Adu Dhabi race and cheer for whoever will win. His favorite driver is not one of those who still has a chance to win the coveted title.

I hope The Pacman wins. And I hope Fernando Alonso wins too! Woot!
