New Babies and Toddlers in the Family

When we went home to the province last weekend to visit the wake of our granduncle, I was surprised to see a lot of babies and toddlers in the family. So, aside from my brother’s baby girl,Β  my cousin bore two more girls from when I last saw her second child.

I don’t even want to think about how many nephews and nieces I have on my mother’s side of the family. My mom sent me an sms during Christmas that there are so many kids during their annual Christmas reunion.

I joked that they should send out birth announcements to us so we know the head count of the offspring, LOL.

kids

I made a little compilation of the young addition to the family that I have pictures of. I know there are missing kids here so to that I say, “sorry po, eto lang meron ako” πŸ˜€

Volkswagen Beetle

photohunter

Bulky Challenger Tube Cars here in this entry.

Do you know what this sign means?

Volkswagen emblem

Yes, it is a Volkswagen emblem on a Beetle that has no photo of the body, boooo to me πŸ˜€

Bulky, yes it is and it can seat a lot of people inside especially when one sits on another’s lap since it has a tall roof. Its true! I’ve seen that on TV for what car can seat the most number of people inside and if what I remember is right, the VW Beetle won πŸ˜‰

Better Water Service

Woohoo, thanks Maynilad Water Services! We now have water in our taps 24/7!

Yes, I am soooo excited that when we went to the supermarket today I bought cleaning agents, brushes, rags, Anilox rolls and yes, even a new mop so we have a new one just in case the almost-new mop gives out from too much use. Who am I kidding. LOL.

I hope this enthusiasm is not short-lived for if only the floors have voices, I know that they have long been calling for me to give them attention. How? Something like “Clean me!” or “Mop me!” πŸ˜€

Happy New Year

2010 is starting great in this household despite losing granduncle before the New Year and me having a sprained ankle. Water connection has improved thanks to the almost non-stop digging which made me stop going to my morning rounds (excuses, excuses). Now we are complaining the water pressure is too strong, lol!

Internet connection is better too. Hubby is now thinking about rearranging the home office furniture here in the library just in case, JUST IN CASE, we are able to afford a new pc or a netbook.

Hmmm…

I may need to work harder then and save more for that day to be here the soonest possible πŸ˜€

Reunions Can Be Fun Too

Family reunions are happy events as loved ones gather to enjoy each others’ company in once-in-a-while moments.

If there is one thing that makes love ones feel awkward with would be to think of topics that will sustain the conversation and keep the communication a two-way street.

It probably feels weird being face-to-face with a cousin you haven’t seen in years and where the only memories y0u got between the two of you is childhood spent together playing games during weekends.

Of course you can’t possibly bore your relatives about the nitty gritty details of your work unless they are interested nor should you explain in detailed version how you bought your new condo unit or how you got the best auto insurance quote or maybe even about your stock market portfolio.

What should you talk about then?

  • Update each other about how you are doing but be general with the details unless they ask you.
  • Introduce your children (if you have some) but do not spend too much time enumerating their best features.
  • Try to find a topic that will interest them.
  • Play fun games.
  • As much as possible, avoid gossiping about those who did not make it to the reunion.

Last of all, enjoy the moment of togetherness πŸ™‚
