Water Pollution

My other entry about still beautiful trash can be found here.

trash in Manila Bay

Manila Bay is said to be a place where magnificent sunsets can be seen. I have not been there for that particular time of day though.

When we went to visit the place a few months ago, we were disappointed to see trash, especially plastic bags, disposable cups and plastic bottles thrown IN the water.

Deplorable acts!

Krispy Kreme Chocolate Karnival

Last March, my children and I got an invitation to go to the launching of Krispy Kreme Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts along with blogger friends and media personalities. We had fun being with friends. Our children had fun too playing the games in the venue.

This is a good way to advertisement for a new product, don’t you think so? I had to blur my children’s faces because I don’t want them posted in this blog. Hope you understand.

here is a more detailed post about the event.

Books in Our Home Library

Everywhere one goes to our home, reading materials can be seen. Magazines in the bathrooms and on the bedside table, cookbooks in the kitchen, children’s story books on the sofa, the paperback I am currently reading on the bed (lol!), countless e-books in the computers and different kinds of books in the library.

Here is one part of our home library. Pardon the clutter, the books keep piling up faster than I can organize these.

I have a thing about collecting an author’s books if I like what I have read. Among my collection are (my almost complete) Mary Higgins-Clark and her daughter Carol, David Baldacci, Michael Crichton, Richard North Patterson, David Kellerman, almost complete Archie McNally series by Lawrence Sanders, Dan Brown, Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum, among others.

Oh, by the way, I don’t usually buy new books, I get these from bargain book stores. I only buy new books that come in series like the Harry Potter books.

Goodbye, Summer?

I know I am one of the many who complains about the hot and humid weather but is it goodbye summer already?

It was a good thing that last Sunday, even if I was having a sneezing fit and while the world was getting ready to watch the Pacquiao-Hatton fight in LV which had the Pacman KO Hatton <- (must watch) during 2nd round, my hubby and I decided to go where I can take photos of sunflowers (my favorite flowers!) and at the same time, spend a little time doing some walking. He brought a bike and went biking while I walked.

So there you go, a close-up sunflower photo, in memory of a very short summer.

Update: We are supposed to be in the middle of summer but we just had Chan-hom, a category 3 hurricane, ravaging the northern part of the country last night. Please pray for those who lost their homes and their loved ones.

Barbed Wire

Protect(ion) is the theme for Photo Hunter this Saturday.

Below is a photo of barbed wire over grills with a ocher sunset sky backdrop.

No, that is not a prison fence. It is our home fence.

Why the grills and the barbed wire? For some protection against intruders.

Lilac Flowers

Flowers have natural colors and these are one of the best things to use when teaching and learning about colors.

Here is a violet flower in my other entry for this week’s PURPLE theme in Photo Hunter.

Below is a bunch of lilac flowers that are very small and dainty-looking:

This kind of flower comes in many colors like orange, red and yellow.

Beautiful but if I remember it right, these have an awful smell, ugh!
