I’ve noticed something different about career choices of incoming college students these days: the courses have terms that sound different from when I was about to start college. A lot of people also choose to get online college degree rather than commute to school.
Whatever happened to the good old courses?
It seems like everyone ones to just be behind a desk in front of a computer, behind the cameras, stage and doing props of making things in digital form. Don’t these young people want to improve on the food sources and agricultural issues to increase food production? Or maybe discover a cure to lessen dengue fever or increase resistance to airborne diseases?
Times are changing yes, but if everyone wants to be the next big thing in digital arts media, who would take care of the sick? Who would teach the young ones? Who would manage the food sources?

A Curious Thought: What’s Inside a Bad Boy’s Pair of Pants?
RJ Ledesma, a three-time best selling author launches his fourth book: “It Only Hurts When I Pee, RJ Ledesma’s Guide to Bodily Gases, Hair Loss and Pink Parts“
Distributed by Anvil Publishing, this is a compilation of ridiculously truthful, self-aware and highly comical chronicles of the less hygienic male species based on curious epic research, thorough investigation and, ahem, first-hand experience.
Other topics of this 167-page book include Pinoy dating and mating scenes and male entertainment created by grimy fingers and a lack of good taste.
RJ is an entrepreneur, multimedia practitioner, yogi and author of Lies My Yaya Should Have Told Me (2008), I Do or I Die (2009), and Is It Hot In Here Or Is It Me? (2010).
Got summer plans already?
There is so much to do during summer and for sure, school children will not get bored with the many choices as to what they can do when school’s out:
- travel and see how much fun it is in the Philippines (needs time to plan and budget for expenses)
- cooking classes which also includes learning new skills like sanitation, cutting, sieving, food styling and nutrition facts
- photography
- styling classes
- swimming, soccer, basketball, baseball, badminton classes for the sporty ones
- piano, guitar, violin and voice lessons for the musically inclined
- summer classes, whether advanced or for failed academic subjects
- arts and crafts lessons for the crafty ones (this can be done at home because there are lots of tutorials to be found in the web)
There is so much to do during summer and there is no need for children to get bored. If budget is a problem, be creative and you can still have a lot of fun too!

With summer vacation just a few weeks from now, I’m sure a lot of people are planning their summer getaways. Why not jump start your plans by getting the Buy 1 Take 1 or 60% discount off these popular footwear brands like Ipanema, Grendha, Rider and Ipanema Gisel Bundchen collection?
The Great Brazilian Madness Sale is happening starting today, February 13 till February 16, 2012 at the Glorietta Activity Center.
There’s no need to change from your office, work and nursing uniforms before you head over to the sale because you might not be able to choose that perfect pair that looks good with your swimming clothes 🙂

There are days when I would want to do everything just to have house help doing the chores for me. She doesn’t have to wear scrubs nor any uniforms, as long as she does what is supposed to be done at home: washing dishes, doing the laundry, cooking, sweeping and most of all, waking up early to cook packed lunch for the kids.
I got stomach flu for a few days and it was not something I look forward to in the near future.
Symptoms of stomach flu or gastroenteritis include:
- diarrhea
- nausea
- abdominal cramps, and
- vomiting
- Some symptoms may include low-grade fever.
This is highly contagious especially if this is bacterial, viral or parasitic in nature so it is best to wash hands every time especially after going to the bathroom or keep a hand sanitizer at all times.
Be sure to take lots of fluids and rest. Fluids will help avoid dehydration which causes more complications than the condition’s symptoms.
The BRAT diet is recommended before going back to regular diet: banana, rice, apples and toast.
This three-day illness which snapped out the energy in me. I felt faint, not hungry, bloated, had headache, wasn’t able to sleep and not burping.
Now I’m better. I think, except for that bitter taste in the tongue which made me crave for boiled eggs. I had two just a while ago. Gah.
