Confetti

Confetti falling from the roof adds up to the excitement of events and gatherings, especially during ceremonial toasts, congratulatory portion and awarding of grand prizes.

Of course, this could be a bit of a problem during toasts.

When we went to the opening ceremony of the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show, some of the confetti from the roof looked like loose diamonds, according to my daughter who was watching from a distance.

Well, if that’s the case, I would be the first to catch a few 😀

Shopping for Shirts

The husband is a bit meticulous when it comes to buying men’s polo shirts.

He has a certain preference for a certain type of cloth. He prefers the hem to be straight especially since he is not fond of tucking in the shirt inside his pants. He even has a parameter for how long the shirt should be. He is not brand-conscious too, unlike other men.

I don’t believe only women have a hard time looking for what they like when shopping for clothes. Men have strong preferences too 🙂

Wanted: Job Vacancy

In the uncertain times leading to the economic difficulties of a lot of the so-called first world countries, people have become more creative in being able to find jobs.

Some would even go through great lengths to move to the city of Philadelphia jobs offers. Yes, there are those who are willing to pack up and try their “luck” in other places as far as China.

Some put up their resumes online and hope for head hunters to find them.

Some people re-invent themselves and start all over again, doing an entirely different thing.

If this thing happens to you, how ready are you to face the challenges?

Difficulty in Saying No

It is quite difficult to tell your friends that you are not prepared to listen to their sales pitch about the term life insurance quotes that they want you to know, the latest fashionable clothes nor the newest signature bags they have for sale.

There are those who end up buying whatever it is that the friend is selling, like shirts, bags and even gift certificates.

If  however you refused to purchase from them, as friends, they should be able to understand your position if ever the roles are reversed.

In a status update I wrote in a social networking site where I have an account, I said: “Please do not tag me with things that you are selling.”

There. I hope they won’t take offense with what I wrote.
