CCTV Installation Services

Hubby has a new “sideline” : putting up security cameras or CCTV Installation services in the homes (and offices) of people, mostly with people who trust him. He was able to know the process of putting up cctv because he has been tasked to help a company that puts up these cameras in public places.

Perhaps one of the things that make him different from those who do the same thing is his tech know-how: he can make the homeowners/office big bosses view what the cameras are viewing through an online connection. Cool huh?

Just email me if you have inquiries 😉

Has Social Media Changed Your Life?

Let’s admit it, being in the midst of the action in social media seems to be that BIG thing since sending sms has been introduced to us Filipinos. You know, we who boasts as THE texting capital of the world and upcoming Facebook superstar in terms of sheer number of accounts created, real accounts to the right and dummy accounts to the left are all counted here.

Anyway, Facebook is not the only social media platform we all use. Twitter is another form of social media which very well takes third place, where sms is still king for now and Facebook comes second, in terms of sending messages and group announcements. Other microblogging sites are catching up too.

Yes dearies, the young has invaded Twitter too and why not? Sending messages to friends via Twitter is FREE. Free in terms of not using data charge per message sent per subscriber. Imagine, if all your friends are in Twitter, you can just send a status update to your 10 friends that tomorrow you will be going to the mall after school. There’s really no need to  shell out money ten times multiplied several times as the number of messages because you can reply several times as long as you want to.

I’m sure the telcos are squirming in their seats trying to think of ways on how their subscribers can part with their hard-earned money.

For me, there’s a dark side to engaging in these social media tools when it comes to communicating with friends, real or virtual. Continue Reading »

PLDT myDSL Internet to Sawa TRANSFORMS my Internet experience from Awful to Awesome

I want to experience the extra ordinary transformation I can get from PLDT myDSL Internet to Sawa.

I connect to my neighbor’s network when I’m too lazy to turn on my laptop which also serves as our home’s “router”. I can sit anywhere in the living room or in the dining room and surf to the net using their PLDT internet connection. I can even watch movies online. Yes! it’s that fast! (I think I blogged about this before)

The resident techie, aka TekKonsult,  told me just recently to contact PLDT and inquire about their DSL services.

Yes, it’s a “Visit www.myworldmydsl.com for more information or call 171 to confirm your subscripstion today!” tall order from him.

That kind of fast internet connection is needed in my line of work, that of a blogger (and now a proud Nuffnanger!)  and an online content writer to a wonderful site.

Being a Nuffnanger has opened doors for me in terms of meeting new people and trying new things. I may not be one of their special bloggers but I must admit I enjoy the perks and freebies from joining Nuffnang events. Nuffnang does bring out a creative/competitive side among their bloggers when it comes to writing creative posts for them.

Of course it helps to have a fast connection (hello! PLDT myDSL free and unlimited internet speed boost of up to 5mbps) since there are days when more than 3 gadgets are connected to our home network. Everyone else stops loading heavy pages when the only son watches his favorite Formula 1 race livestream.

PLDT myDSL free and unlimited internet speed boost of up to 5mbps is certainly most welcome in our home 😀

What makes a smartphone a genius phone?

What makes a smartphone a genius phone?

“I wish I can do a Twitpic on my mobile phone,” I told the hubby just last night as we were looking at flood photos, updates on the rainy day and traffic photos.

I really, really want to have an all-in-one gadget that I can bring with me whenever I need to

  • take photos pronto without having to fumble inside my bag in search for my camera
  • fix my very busy schedule of students’ sessions and writing tasks
  • meet friends for a coffee date
  • attend blogger events
  • spend special holidays and occasions with our relatives

Choosing the right gadget is difficult especially when almost every other gadget outdo each other in specifications and applications.

Two gadgets caught my attention: LG Optimus Black and LG Optimus 2X (the world’s FIRST DUALCORE SMARTPHONE)

Why the two? Because both are lightweight, fast, have big screens, have wonderful cameras, operates on Andriod 2.2 Froyo, external memory is expandable and battery life has reduced power consumption.

  • Lightweight: I carry three mobile phones and one is a bulky old thing that you can open up to find a qwerty keyboard. More often than not, it has been mistaken as an aircon controller. No kidding.
  • Fast: two phones can’t connect to the internet while bulky phone can. It takes a century though to connect and by the time I’m connected, battery’s drained already. Huhuhu…
  • Big Screens: I admit, my eyes get a bit strained fast these days especially when I’ve been busy so a bigger screen is something I look forward to.
  • 4mp and 8mp cameras: why this has more mp than my point and shoot camera! What more can I add?
  • Android 2.2 froyo: I’ve been eyeing Android phones for the last year and a half not only because I want to Androidify myself but because of the so many apps I can use not just for myself but for my children to have fun and learn with.
  • Internal memory: 2gb for the LG Optimus Black and 8gb for the LG Optimus 2x? Woohoo! I can just imagine how many apps I can use and how many songs I can enjoy listening to! And yes! external memory on both phone can be upgraded up to 32gb! Wow!
  • Reduced power consumption: ahh, pure bliss without having to feel anxious when I’m using the phone and the beep goes on that battery’s juice is about to go out in 3, 2, 1…

Optimus is more than just smart. It’s genius. Visit lgoptimus.ph for more information!

Karylle for Philips

It was not a surprise when Philips chose Karylle Tatlonghari or Karylle or simply K to be it’s newest reviewer of Philips On the Go headphone products.

Karylle for Philips

May I just say that I like Karylle though I am not exactly a fan who would go to great lengths just to see her in a show, not because I don’t want to but I simply don’t have the time. I like her because she seems to be a level-headed person. I like her because she is classy without trying hard. I like her because she is an achiever that teens today should find worth emulating.

Anyway…

Philips has Victoria who used to review their products for them. But ever since she and Nigel the Philips guy, got together Victoria had to stop doing the reviews so Philips has to find new personalities who will do what Victoria has been doing all along.

Here is a Nigel and Victoria video:

For the Philippines, Karylle was chosen to review Philips On the Go Headphones. And why not, being a singer and a performer she gets to listen to a lot of music.

And here is Karylle’s review of Philips SHL9300 headphones, shot in Europe:

During the press conference of which I was able to attend, Karylle said she personally like the Sports Actionfit earhook headset because these are sweat-proof, washable and have anti-bacterial caps.

Karylle is currently out of the country to shoot a musical show titled Kitchen Musical. She will be with Christian Bautista on the said show.

Check this out for more info on Philips EarGear products .
