Back to the Old Ways

So sad for someone I know who said she is willing to give up smoking to be healthier. She did have a good start after she got sick big time, eating more fruits and vegetables, walking in the morning and sleeping early. I’m not sure what happened but she got lost along the way. If there’s something that got her “derailed” then it did make a big upset on her way to being nonsmoker.

Why, even cigar auctions online are sites she frequently visits.

I am not judging her though. I am still a friend even if I cover my nose when she lights up her smoke.

Smart C+ Wear Your Choice

Smart C+ is one of the bottled drinks that my children absolutely love. They like grapefruit/pomelo flavor best.

Smart C+ brand ambassadors

Smart C+ brand ambassadors Divine Lee, Liz Uy and RJ Ledesma. Not in photo are Anton del Rosario and Rissa Mananquil.

Smart C+

Smart C+ is a great choice because it is made with real fruit juice without artificial coloring, added preservatives and artificial sweeteners. The three citrus variants are Lemon Squeeze, Orange Crush and Pomelo-Grapefruit. Every bottle of has 500mg of Vitamin C which helps in strengthening the immune system and repairing cells and tissues brought about by the daily stresses we deal with.

I Heart Trinkets

As I was going through my trinkets the other day, I picked up the many pieces that make up my Bracelet a Breloques. I love my trinkets which are mostly cutesy bracelets and earrings. Of course, diamond rings would be great but I can’t wear these when I ride the train when I go to work, 😀

Bracelet a Breloques

I remember I wrote a post about it so I tried to go look for the post in the archives. I was surprised that there’s a number 7 in the “Share in Facebook” button because I remembered that I did not share this post using that button.

Wheee! It feels good that there were people who shared this post. Thank you, thank you! I hope you shared it because you liked it 🙂

CCTV Installation Services

Hubby has a new “sideline” : putting up security cameras or CCTV Installation services in the homes (and offices) of people, mostly with people who trust him. He was able to know the process of putting up cctv because he has been tasked to help a company that puts up these cameras in public places.

Perhaps one of the things that make him different from those who do the same thing is his tech know-how: he can make the homeowners/office big bosses view what the cameras are viewing through an online connection. Cool huh?

Just email me if you have inquiries 😉

Unilab Ideas Positive

Unilab Ideas Positive 2011, a health-related community project competition, has now chosen 11 semi-finalists from almost 60 entries. Read more about Unilab Ideas Positive here.

Unilab Ideas Positive

Among the 11 semi-finalists, only 3 will be chosen and will be awarded a total prize of PhP250,000 to jumpstart their projects.

In 2010, it was Team Biggkas of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) who bagged the grand prize for its farm-in-the-city concept. The winning team taught hydroponics gardening to mothers in Barangay San Joaquin in Pasig City so they have their own sustainable source of vegetables within the community. Mothers made their first harvest of lettuce and kangkong in April this year. The local government of Pasig City has expressed a desire to replicate the same program in other barangays.

This year, 11 teams were selected as semi-finalists out of 56 entries from over 20 schools in NCR, Camanava, and Calabarzon.

Information on the semi-finalists and their programs can be seen at the Unilab Ideas Positive website.

Toblerone Thank You Global Pinoy

The Global Pinoy.

We always hear that expression not because Filipinos can be found almost anywhere but because Filipinos are world-class and that include being exemplary overseas workers.

As a way to say “Thank You” to our modern day heroes, Toblerone, with GeiserMaclang, is initiating Thank You Global Pinoy.

Toblerone Thank You Global Pinoy

“The challenge that was posed to us back in 2007 was to market an ad-proof product—a product whose sales didn’t seem to be affected by any amount of witty one-liners or flashy celebrity endorsers,” shares Amor Maclang, Director for Communications of GeiserMaclang. “ Since advertising didn’t work and rebranding was out of the question, there was a need for Toblerone to be seen in a different light. Toblerone had to be more than just a sweet treat. It had to stand for something more, something that the consumers would be able to relate to — this led to the brand being directly associated with the Filipino value of gratitude”.

Based on the 2006 Reader’s Digest poll where Manila ranked low in the courtesy department which includes saying “thank you”, Toblerone challenged the Filipinos by having the first ever-National Thank You Day in 2007.

The late former president Cory Aquino was the person whom the nation said “Thank You” to in 2009.

This year, Toblerone, in partnership with GeiserMaclang, Commission of Filipinos Overseas, Duty-Free Philippines and Good News Pilipinas is announcing the first ever Thank You Global Pinoy Awards.

Duty Free Philippines is supporting the Thank You Global Pinoy Awards in order to promote the Filipino trait of showing appreciation and gratitude.

Toblerone has also launched the Special Rewards Passport that can be used to redeem gifts and special privileges from partner establishments.

“Four years ago, the brand sought to simultaneously revive the art of saying thank you and position Toblerone as synonymous with the value of gratitude,” shares Mr Jaya Singh, Region Director, Middle East and Asia Pacific, Kraft Foods World Travel Retail  “And the overwhelming support that we got – a congressional legislation declaring an official  ‘National Thank You Day’ alongside massive media and private sector participation— proved that yes, the value of gratitude resounded with Filipinos. This year, we hope to rally that same groundswell of support, this time, for our Global Filipinos”.

Thank You Global Pinoy Awards is open to anyone who knows of an outstanding overseas Filipino worker who deserves to be thanked.
