Low Tech Reporting

When my son had his turn to report in front of his class last year, he wanted to bring a laptop with him for presentation. I had to say “NO” because I wanted him to do “manual preparations”. I helped him prepare by choosing pictures to print for a mini-album.

We didn’t have enough time to have poster printing so he had to write the important concepts in his report in several big brown papers called “Manila papers” which his classmates taped on the writing boards. See a blog post about the report here.

Hubby helped by buying souvenir items as well as food samplers for the classmates to have. These items were a big hit!

Much as I wanted the children to use technology in their studies, doing the low tech and manual labor way would not make them none the wiser.

Ready for Summer with Dupé Chique Flipflops

I’m ready for summer with my new pair of Dupé flipflops! The pair below is Dupé Chique. Woot!

Dupé Gel Flipflops

I love the way this pair feels on my feet. The Dupe slippers has fish scale pattern on the sole for better flexibility. The new logo is on the sole and strap of each of the pair. It is 100% rubber.

Dupé Gel Flipflops

The heel massager is pure bliss because it gives me a feeling of cushion.

This particular Dupé has Gel XHP which means H = high comfort, X = expanded fully sealed coating for better flexibility and the use of P = Penta polymer material for durability.

Why should you get a pair of Dupé slippers? Continue Reading »

My Feet

I’ve noticed my feet are a bit swollen after I sit for a few hours while online. I feel bad about it. Yesterday though, because I was out half the day, my feet weren’t as swollen as these were the other day.

Hmmm… weight loss pills that work to the rescue for me? Yes, apparently, if one has weight issues, the feet get swollen.

Perhaps I need to do more of my Zumba and Hoopnotica hula-hooping routines whether I stay at home the whole day or I go out to work. As for the Zumba, nah, I don’t go to a class because the “official” class is held a bit far from where I live, I just improvise and dance move to the beat. Super fun!

Grammar Checker

I’m not saying I have a perfect syntax. I don’t.

BUT!!!

For example, I will probably not write like “I will read about slow cooking online last night when the electricity was stopped” when I could write “Last night, I was reading about slow cooking when the electric power was cut off”

Before I click the “Publish” button I read my entries first to see what could be wrong. I may feel what I wrote was ok but sometimes I see mistakes that has not been edited and so I go back and edit.

If  in case one is concerned about sentence construction, there are several ways to check through the grammar police: Continue Reading »

Greediness

With the country abuzz about the apparent suicide death by gunshot wound of a former cabinet member and Armed Forces chief of staff, we tend to go over what has transpired through the years prior to him and other high-raking military officials being charged with corruption.

I wrote this in FB:

“while we feel sad for the family of the late Angie Reyes and wish the media will give them privacy to grieve for him, there are still questions that need answers, truth that need to come out, people who are accountable to corruption charges and we can’t ignore these”

Was this the easy way out? How can he clear his name now? Amidst the grief and shock, the nation is divided with how the situation will proceed from this day on.

These men are exceptional, no doubt about it.

The higher-ups are nervous by the investigation.

It is however not mind-boggling how they came to be: swimming in thousands or dollars and living the high life with homes in America using money meant to be for the poor, hungry, wearing old shoes, using old arms and flying flying coffins much, much older military planes soldiers.

One of the wives even wrote: Continue Reading »

My Stone Cabin

I got an account with Facebook because of two things: my eldest daughter signed up and my friends were playing Farmtown.

My daughter is still very much active with her FB account but the friends have stopped playing Farmtown. Some former Farmtown neighbors moved on to the other farming game.

Lately though, out of curiosity, I went back to my game. I was so surprised to see so many changes in Farmtown and it feels like it’s a new game to me.

I was able to get my mansion early last year before I stopped playing. When I went back to the game not too long ago I saw new houses and got myself a log cabin and two stone cabins (among other purchases)  for XP and leveling up.

Here is one stone cabin in place of the mansion I placed in my storage: Continue Reading »
