Wooden Pecking Hens

HANDS is the theme for this week’s Photo Hunt and here I wrote here that we have a hand in educating our two younger children.

I thought about featuring this photo of my youngest daughter’s hand holding a wooden toy with five pecking hens which looks like a handmade toy.

I thought the concept of this toy is originally Philippine-related but when I Googled the term, I found out the toy is of Scandinavian origin!

Surprise, surprise!

Below is the toy in a close-up photo:

This toy not just shows how the hens eat but also teaches about gravity and speed 😀
