I Love Clothes But…

Shopping for clothes is one thing I’m not particularly fond of. It’s true! I’d rather get lost in a hardware store between shelves of faucets, shower heads and material handling equipments than ogle at those reed thin mannequins wearing the latest in fashion.

I love clothes of course, but there seems to be more important things to give attention to than these threads. No, I’m not bitter ๐Ÿ˜€

2011 Manila AutoShow

I’d brave traffic and distance just to be in a car show rather than a clothes sale. Seriously.

Sale!

I just love going to sale events (even.if.I.have.to.elbow.my.way.out.of.throngs.of.people) because I not only get discounts, I like to feel that I am spending more because I get more out of the money I have. Not that I have a lot, LOL.

Hubby and I have a short list on what we think we need just in case a sale happens and we can afford to go:

  • outdoor shoes and clothes
  • discount office furniture for our home office
  • a new gadget
  • kitchen and baking equipments
  • new neighbors oops, sorry, haha

Now that the Christmas season is just around the corner, we expect more sale happenings around us. Meanwhile, I gotta do some saving up before that happens.

Shopping for Shirts

The husband is a bit meticulous when it comes to buying men’s polo shirts.

He has a certain preference for a certain type of cloth. He prefers the hem to be straight especially since he is not fond of tucking in the shirt inside his pants. He even has a parameter for how long the shirt should be. He is not brand-conscious too, unlike other men.

I don’t believe only women have a hard time looking for what they like when shopping for clothes. Men have strong preferences too ๐Ÿ™‚

Post-Christmas Shopping Rush

The Christmas shopping rush is over and I hope a lot are happy with the presents they got. Or maybe not.

TriNoma pre-Christmas crowd

I remember reading one time that in other countries, they give gift receipts so that the bearer can return the gift and get another item. Say what? That feels unfair to the giver who spent time and resources to get a gift.

Speaking of gift-giving, many credit card holders are probably reaching for their anti wrinkle face creams as they anticipate or hold in their hands their bills. I’m glad I don’t go through that since I do not have a credit card.

My motto, if you can’t pay in cash, then don’t get it. Period.

Ukay-Ukay Clothes

Shopping for clothes is a retail therapy that women, or men, will not say “no” to. To think that the garments factory is one of the lucrative businesses around is proof that people like to buy clothes.

Do you know that there are clothes that can be bought in bulk? I have not heard about wholesale clothes and this idea seem fresh to me. This reminds me of clothes being sold in “ukay-ukay” shops where bundles of clothes can be sold: from tops to shoes.

I have several tops and shorts that I got from an ukay-ukay store nearby ๐Ÿ™‚

*ukay-ukay means to dig, literally means to dig through piles of used clothes

Shopping

Almost everyone loves to go shopping, whether to find good buys and bargains, to just window shop or to really buy what they want need for whatever reason. Perhaps husbands are the ones who don’t enjoy shopping especially when they just tag along with their wives holding heavy bags.

So what part of the mall or department store do you like to explore?
