A Few Gift Ideas

Been trying to bake different kinds of goodies not just for the packed food the kids need to bring but also for our Christmas giveaways because as always, frugal Christmas is the only way I will go with regards to gift-giving to some select people.

Frugal Christmas doesn’t mean effortless and meaningless because these require time, effort and electric bill boost. Anyway…

Much as I want to have those photo prints to be made and ordered online and delivered right at your doorstep, I simply don’t have the time. I will but maybe not now.

My plans for the photo books and mouse pads (mice pads? LOL) and maybe even door hangers are put on hold for now. Though I might reconsider giving these as after-Christmas gifts 😀

November 17: International UnFriend Day

Having been offline for almost the whole day yesterday, I missed this piece of news: Jimmy Kimmel announcing November 17 as International UnFriend Day. Not really a holiday but hey, this is interesting!

Not that I want to unfriend anyone from my Facebook or Twitter account. Ok, I admit I have some people in mind but why raise controversy when I could just:

  • hide their status update
  • ignore friendship request
  • NOT invite other people to become “friends” with me when I don’t like them in the first place.

I’m sure the third part has some people feel that way with me, I know them and I don’t really care even if they are friends with my children and NOT with me. Their loss to miss out on my interesting links, lol.

Fine with me too to not be in contact, albeit virtually, with some people because I might be tempted to tell write on their wall to stop posting their photos if they don’t get acne laser treatment first. Ok, mean joke.

Who would you want to unfriend, just in case?

Flower Photos

I love taking flower photos. In fact, I have several flower-related posts in this blog and Pixie Pixels blog.

Flowers make our surroundings more colorful and more fun.  Flowers uplift the spirits for these make people smile and feel good. Even by looking at flower photos people will feel positive energy as they look at the colorful foliage.

My favorite flower would be sunflower, no question about it 🙂

Action-Packed Sunday

This Sunday is one that is action-packed.

First off, time will stop for those who will be glued to their super delayed telecast to watch Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao fight off his opponent in boxing. While others go to their favorite bars, sports bars, movie houses, and gyms, others will listen to their radio for the live update. We won’t go anywhere, even if I got two tickets to the fight, we will just look for a livestream.

My youngest daughter wanted to watch but hubby said no for they would be in a crowd full of males. She loves sports and would always wear her favorite nfl t shirts or her running shirt.

My son is not interested in boxing, too bloody and violent for him, he says. He’d rather watch the Formula One Adu Dhabi race and cheer for whoever will win. His favorite driver is not one of those who still has a chance to win the coveted title.

I hope The Pacman wins. And I hope Fernando Alonso wins too! Woot!

Ties as Fashion Statement

If some women use colorful shawls as their fashion statement, mens ties can be used as such too. I don’t know what it is about these ties but even my daughter has a shirt with a tie hanging in front. She wears this shirt with jeans and a pair of chucks.

During the son’s First Communion, they wore white long-sleeved shirts with neck ties. My son wanted to have a printed neck tie but of course, I had to say “no” because the affair was a formal one and it wouldn’t do well if he was the only one sticking out like a sore thumb wearing a cartoon character necktie among those wearing black-colored ones 😀

“I Support Manny Pacquiao, the World’s #1 Boxer, just like Head and Shoulders, the World’s #1 Shampoo!“

We are one of the many millions of Filipinos who support Manny Pacquiao and yes, we join the nation in praying for him every time he has a big fight. He gives Filipinos hope to beat all the odds and emerge victorious.

As much as we support Manny, our family have also been using Head and Shoulders shampoo for years and we have one less thing to stress about: dandruff 😀

Why do we want Manny to win? He not only puts the country under a bright spotlight with his ability to win but his perseverance, discipline and will to win serve as inspiration for the young people to do their best in whatever endeavor they want to achieve.

Go, Manny! We are behind you all the way!
