Skin irritations. Itchy eyes. Sneezing. Wheezing. Red spots on the skin. Runny nose. Scratchy throat.
These are just a some of the symptoms a person suffering from allergies experience. It is a terrible state to be in. I know because I have allergies and I suffer through itchy eyes and sneezing.
We do know what causes allergies and allergic reactions: food, outdoor allergens like dust, pollen, and molds, medicines, skin irritants like clothes, animals, insect bites and/or insects.
It is easy to identify these allergens but it is quite difficult to avoid being allergic to these.
So we ask: How can we avoid getting these allergic reactions?

Hi Julie, my friends know that all my four kids have skin problems and allergies as well. I cannot count the times we visited the dermatologist and bought expensive meds for skin asthma/allergies. To prevent allergies, I make sure they don’t eat too much chicken, seafoods or eggs in a week. The house helper would clean the house daily while the kids are out. And kids can’t stay long outside with the heat and pollution. Helper would iron all our bedsheets, pillow cases and even the mattress. The laundry staff would wash our clothes in hot water plus mild laundry detergents and use mild-scented dryer sheet.
Allergens are all around us. It is very difficult to shield ourselves from allergens outside but we can do some preventive measures to protect ourselves at home. I make sure the house is cleaned daily. I pay extra attention to “dust catchers” like figurines, trophies, picture frames and toys on shelves. I also have a special duster for the blinds.
We regularly change beddings and curtains. Newly purchased clothes and beddings are always put straight in the hamper. Store bought clothes and linens might seem clean but it is best to wash them with mild detergent before using them.
My son is allergic to some food. I could tell if he has eaten something he’s allergic to when he starts scratching. His skin also develops red spots. I have trained him at an early age to be aware of food that are not good for him.
luckily, my family and i don’t seem to be allergic-prone, but that doesn’t mean we just do things recklessly. house cleaning is a must for us, as well as changing the bedsheets and curtains regularly, too. even the car gets a “thorough” cleaning (not detailing, since that’s just too expensive, lol) at least once a week.
