Sushi
Slice it up for Lasang Pinoy Sundays.
Japanese food has made it’s way to the Filipino hearts and one of the best loved food would be sushi.
My eldest daughter loves sushi and can finish more than ten pieces of this kind in one sitting π She also loves to eat sashimi and asks me to get her one of those small chunks of sashimi sold frozen and vacuum packed at the supermarket.
Here is a little side story that I found ironic:
I remember a wedding that we attended once. The Filipina bride got married to a Japanese groom. Most of the bride’s (Filipina) girl friends had Japanese (boy)friends and they all flocked to the table where Japanese cuisine was being served and almost completely ignored the table laden with Filipino cuisine. Oh well.
Have a great Sunday!
Hmmm… maybe they are not as adventurous as Pinoys are when it comes to food…
Iska! My apologies, I edited my entry, I have forgotten to add that the bride is a Filipina and her friends are Filipinas too π
π sad naman ako to hear that oh well
me love sushi too π but i dont know why i cant appreciate calimaki as much as other makis π ironic isnt it?
my entry is here
magandang araw ka-lasa-ista π
Salamat sa pagbisita π
so did the boyfriends try any of the filipino food? that sushi looks delicious!! your daughter is off to a good start in becoming a bonafide foodie! π
i love sushi too. at home, for a quick sushi, we use tuna flakes as filling.
True to “when in Rome eat as the Romans do” pero kung ang kasal sa Pinas eh di mali hihihi.
I try to fuse jap-pinoy at times, works well! Love the masago on sushi teach!
hmmm that’s almost frustrating to witness for us Pinoys ha:( i myself will go for the sushis, but will never pass up for our very own Pinoy spread!:)
Choice between Filipino and Japanese food? I’d take both! π Start with sushi and sashimi, then move on to the Pinoy feast!
i love sushi also… too bad it takes time to make them. infact, my entry two weeks ago was sushi-inspired. :o)
teach, i fell in love with Japanese food when I was 9. that’s when i had my first taste of sashimi. π
