Cabin Fever

Being cooped up at home does not mean getting cabin fever because there is so much to do. I know there is a lot of things I have to do but in this cool bed weather, instead of cleaning up, sorting and organizing the things we have that needs to be sorted and organized in the clothes closets, library, dvd cabinet, kids’ room and even the living room, I just want to curl up in bed with a good e-book. And by e-book I mean I got a long list of ebooks to read.

So, how can one battle cabin fever?

  • clean up the mess brought about by the more-than-week long rains
  • sort clothes and toys and give these away to those who need them instead of just having these unused inside cabinets
  • volunteer in relief centers and help in the packing of relief goods
  • bond with the family by cooking for them and just simply spending time together

I am sure people are now eager to go out and breathe some outdoor air. I myself am ready to go as soon as I finish some online tasks.

I just hope and pray that my fellow kababayans who were affected by the massive flooding are in a better situation than earlier last week.

Cabin Fever

This Christmas break is truly a break for us and the children, it seems, are having cabin fever, having been cooped up at home for several days. BUT! I don’t want to go to the malls to while away the time because

a) it’s expensive;

b) it’s crowded with too many people;

c) we don’t want to get sick.

This cool weather, though I love so much because there is no oppressing heat, is causing a lot of people having asthma attacks (thank God there’s none for my son though he had an attack a week before Christmas) and respiratory-related illnesses so much so that people who wear scrubs uniforms are in for the long haul even after the new year.

Respiratory illnesses and the virus that cause these are airborne and we don’t want to catch any viruses from others so we will stay home to be safe than sorry 🙂
