MUJI Go Paperless

It’s that time of the year when I go to MUJI to get school supplies for my children. They love the simple brown paper cover notebooks that can be bought that  just because.

I think the simpleness of these notebooks is what appeals to my daughter because she does not like frilly and girly things (that includes makeup and other beauty products)  especially those that were tested on laboratory animals. Is it called animal test?

Anyway…

Music Room

Most schools have their music rooms where a variety of musical instruments are found: piano, drums, guitars, wind instruments, “sound systems” and even Behringer keyboards.

piano room

With High School Musical and GLEE, I am sure a lot of students dream of being in their school’s music room and belting out songs or playing musical instruments to accompany the singers.

One thing that is missing here in our country, we don’t have marching bands in schools like some have in other countries. Now that would be a good addition to the extra-curricular activities for the students. being in one also teaches them to have lots of patience, discipline and perseverance 🙂

World Book and Copyright Day

World Book and Copyright Day happens every April 23.

The National Book Development Board, the Quezon City Government and IPO Philippines  will celebrate World Book and Copyright Day  at the Quezon City Memorial Circle:

World Book and Copyright Day

This is a timely event especially during summer break because children nowadays are not really into reading. Included in the day’s events are storytelling, poetry-reading and picture taking with different characters like a “pirate” symbolizing the pirate of piracy, a crime that is punishable by law.

So, put on your running shoes and ready your bike racks behind your cars and head over to QCMC on Sunday. You can run or walk or bike before or after you visit these activities at the Planas Garden.

April 22 is Earth Day too 🙂

Krispy Kreme Flowery Treats for Mom

Who wants colorful flowers for Mother’s Day? Who wants sweet doughnuts for Mother’s Day?

Now you can have both when you buy Krispy Kreme Day Flower Doughnuts flowery treats for mom:

Krispy Kreme Mother's Day Flower Doughnuts

I am sure a lot of moms (and non-moms too!) would love to try these sweet treats. I know I do.

I will see if I can drop by Krispy Kreme tomorrow after I canvass prices and styles of industrial shelving for my newly-renovated little classroom. Last week I got rivet beams but I don’t know where I will put these, lol.

Krispy Kreme’s flower-shaped Mother’s Day doughnuts are only available from April 13 to May 31, 2012. So hurry and go to a store near you. Grab a bouquet before they wither away.

Draw Something App

We love playing Draw Something! Add me!  account name is TreasureJar 😉

I am not really good with drawing so I mostly use colors from my color palette. Here is an octopus I drew. Kraken!

Here is a colorful sunset I “drew”

Draw Something: Sunset

I’ve drawn picnic, Rihanna, Jordan, fireball, wildfire, golf club, golf ball logo, party hats, seashore, starfish, Ireland among others.

Even the children have fun drawing and if the words are easy enough, they get to draw too. My son even made an account using the hubby’s phone and we exchange drawings.

This is a good way to exercise those creative streaks we have long “hidden” because we are too busy with mundane work.

Now, I still have to buy a stylus for my tablet for better details, 😀
