How to Decorate Your Christmas Tree
You’ve seen how beautiful Christmas trees are when these are decorated by professionals and you wonder how they pull up something like that.
So, you want to know how to decorate your Christmas tree and highlight your wonderful Christmas decorations? Here are a few tips:
- First set up the tree (a real tree or a fake plastic one) on a stand and make sure that it stands up straight.
- Put the lights first before you put any decorations but make sure these are in good working condition before you put them on the tree.
- Use a ladder or a chair when putting the lights on a tree (unless you got a really small tree or you are very tall and won’t need these ladders)
- Start from inside out. I use those clip and twist plastic things (color black to avoid being noticed) to keep the lights in place.
- Position the lights properly so that these are on the branches and where you can position your decorations later on.
- Make sure the plug end will reach the nearest socket. If not, use an extension cord.
- Light them up and see how else you can improve
- Put up your garlands first and then the decorations later. The decorations would best look inside the tree to give the tree some depth and for the lights to shine on these things.
- Position the tree in a place where good lighting can also highlight the decorations more. I’m sure Murray Feiss lighting would be perfect for this.
It doesn’t matter (for me at least) if the decorations are the latest fad or just homemade and recyclables, what matters is that the Christmas spirit is alive in the hearts of those who see the tree. After all, Christmas is not about the tree, decorations nor the festivities, Christmas is about the birth of our Saviour.
