What Not to Post in your Social Networking Sites

What NOT to post in Facebook is an article for everyone who loves to post everything about themselves in Facebook. The things listed here does not just apply to Facebook but to other social networking sites and other sites, whether online or through paper application procedures.

But really, if one has enough common sense, giving too much information about one’s self should be anyone’s cause for concern and alarm.

  1. Birthdate and birthplace. Why not? think financial security before you broadcast this.
  2. Mother’s maiden name. Why not? Have you ever used this to answer a security question for identity verification?
  3. Your home address. Why not? Go figure.
  4. Long trips away from home. Why not? It is an open invitation for people to have a home visit while you are away from home. Remember, not all the people in your social networking site are your personal friends.
  5. Short trips away from home. Why not? Do go back to number 4 please.
  6. Your inappropriate photos. Why not? Would you want that photo where you were only wearing bifocal safety glasses out there for everyone to see? I hope not. IF you do not want friends posting photos of you getting bushed or doing something you regretted the moment your sanity comes back, then don’t do anything that will put you in a compromising situation.
