Jollibee in Glee

It is known among my close circle of friends that I watch Glee every Wednesday morning through webtv.

It so happened that I woke up rather late today and missed this portion where Tina and Artie are in a mall and Artie showed Tina that he can walk!

In the mall, when Artie and the people are dancing, one can see the iconic Jollibee signage in the background. It may not be as known internationally as it’s rival brands but it is a grand way to be seen (though accidentally) on TV!

How’s that for free promotion? Jollibee in Glee. Jollibee was even a trending topic in Twitter 🙂

Here is the link to the video.

For the Sweetest Mom – a Krispy Kreme contest

Mother’s Day has come to pass but haven’t we said “Everyday is Mother’s Day” oftentimes? Yes, we celebrate Mother’s Day with our moms daily by hugs, kisses, messages and prayers.

Since we celebrate Mother’s Day during summer when our favorite sweet mangoes are in season, we can treat our moms (and ourselves too) with Krispy Kreme Mango Kreme Cake. Krispy Kreme Mango Kreme Cake is made of bits of ripe mangoes mixed with custard on top of a soft vanilla cake and is available on a limited time at PhP42.00 each.

Drive away the heat by having Krispy Kreme Mangoes & Kreme Chiller. For a medium sized serving good for sharing, Mangoes and Kreme Chiller has mangoes and topped with whipped cream.

Crescent Moon and Venus on May 16, 2010

My eldest daughter noticed this unusual spectacle yesterday and took several photos: May 16, 2010 Venus and crescent moon alignment. One of which is this:

venus and moon

Venus and crescent moon aligned in the sky. Photo taken at 6:38pm some minutes before the setting happened, time was according to the news. Daughter said she even saw Venus “disappear” while we were on the road, which was also reported in the news.

I say it beats seeing this in person rather than watching video footage even on HDTV.

This rarely occurs and the next one is said to be slated on August 13, 2012 which is a day after this daughter’s birthday. Not everyone gets to see it too.

My friend iMom took a photo too. Enchie had photos too.

Right Foot

Right foot of my son who loves to play outdoors, the other half of his pair of often dirty feet. He loves to walk barefoot in the house.

Running after kids is a good way to exercise even without fitness equipment.

With the way children are plopped in front of a computer or game console, they miss out on a lot of things that playing with friends and/or playing outdoors can give them.

Chowking Circle C Halo-halo Epic Fail

I have been trying to get rid of belly fat for a long time (no surprise here). The summer heat on the other hand, does not help in making me crave for something cool. Oftentimes I give in and have one of my favorite desserts with the family: Chowking halo-halo.

Halo-halo (from the word, halo = mix) is made up of shaved ice topped with cooked sweetened fruits. It is made sweeter with sugar and milk. More often than not it is topped with ice cream.

The last time we had halo-halo was last election (May 10) and we were disappointed. We were one of the last customers at the Chowking Circle C Congressional Avenue branch because it was  almost closing time when we went there and the staff were busy cleaning up. This is where we have eaten a great majority of Chowking food and where the kids feel at home.

We ordered three halo-halo servings and when these were done, were made to sit on the counter for several minutes before it was served. If the hubby did not stand up to say these were probably ours, I don’t know how long we would have waited.

In other words, the shaved ice in the Chowking halo-halo melted and was very difficult to mix. Water from the shaved ice and the milk overflowed. The shaved ice stuck together, buo-buo. The Chowking halo-halo looked liked milky soup with ice.

Here’s proof:

chowking halo-halo epic fail

Now compare that with this Chowking Halo-halo served right away, from Chowking TriNoma Food Court.

Big difference eh?
