Been So Tired Lately

I have been very slack lately, sleeping late to catch a television show because I have to write about it. This also means waking up late and missing breakfast altogether. Waking up late means I have to rush, rush, and rush more and I feel stressed. The heat is also a contributing factor to this slacking.

I have not run for a long time. I had lots of carbonated and sugared drinks during the day. I think the only healthy intake I have these days are the kefir in my fruits, brown rice and less fat meat. I miss having vegetables.

Do I need to read lipofuze reviews right now?

I think what I need is to better manage my time. Make a schedule of the priorities I need to do like house chores and avoid activities, mostly online, that make me lose track of time.

School year is starting in a few days time and I really hope to get back in the groove otherwise, I would not be able to wake up as early as 5am to cook lunch food for the children.

I got tired composing this so I think I need to tend to the family’s needs now.

Sunset for Grandpa

The end of last year signaled grief to my father’s side of the family when a grand uncle passed away. We were able to visit him a few days before he breathed his last and it was a bittersweet memory that he still recognized me, disoriented though he was.

This sunset photo (I made it grainy in texture) was taken when we were on our way home from that visit:

last sunset for GrandUncle

Here is the photo without the grainy texture.

We went back a few days after for his wake but we just stayed for some time since we had to travel back home. It was good to see relatives even if the circumstances were sad. Spending some time with them, albeit it was a very short time made me realize how much I have been amiss on what is happening with them. Continue Reading »

Krispy Kreme For the Sweetest Mom Week 2

Here is Cookie’s entry for the Krispy Kreme The Sweetest Mom Contest:
Please click on the photo to enlarge.

These photos were taken during my youngest daughter’s 5th birthday.  We were booked at our favorite hotel and we invited the family over to kill time before heading off to dinner.  However, my mom who isn’t much of a “gimik” person initially refused to come and instead wanted to just go home and join us for dinner later on.  After some prodding, she relented although reluctantly.

Upon entering our suite she was surprised to see that we had one of the city’s best views of Manila Bay.  She took a seat by the bay window and marveled as the sun began to descend.  She was so engrossed with the view that she didn’t even notice that we were taking goofy pictures already.  What made the occassion magical was that my Mother, in her own quiet way, found fulfillment in simply sitting by the window and watching the sun set.  Having lived near the bay as a child, it was one sight that she has missed all these years.  And from our hotel window, she has never seen the bay and its sunset as beautiful.

She made us promise to take her along again if and when we stay there again.  Thats a promise I am bound to fulfill if only to see my Mom sitting by the window with a look of quiet contentment.  Nothing could be more magical than that.

Update:
Congratulations Cookie, YOU are THE winner 🙂

Zit, Zit, Go Away

Sometimes I tease my students whenever they have a zit or two on their face.

One time though, I was the one who got teased by a student who said I need adult acne treatments (yes, she insisted I need several, hmph) for a big one on my chin. Ugh! When these pop out, that certain time of the month is definitely a few days away or much nearer.

So much for lecturing about “Do unto others what you would others do unto you” 😀

For Moms Out There

I know this is a super-duper late post (rolls eyes) to be thinking about mother’s day gift ideas this year since Mother’s Day has come and gone in this part of the world. On the other hand, I just concluded a post-Mother’s Day contest so I see nothing wrong 😀

In Sweden, they will be celebrating Mother’s Day on May 30. Spain celebrated this special day last March.

Anyway, for me, as a daughter and a mom, cliche though it seems, Mother’s day should be celebrated everyday. Mother’s Day does not mean grand dinner, expensive gifts and ceremonial toasts. Simple gestures like a hug, a sent message, doing something special for each other and saying how much you love and value your children and or you mom are all big things done in small ways.

For the Sweetest Mom – A Krispy Kreme Contest May 17 – 21, 2010

For the Sweetest Mom – Krispy Kreme Contest here is Chats aka iMom for her entry:

Here’s my magical moment picture with my Mom. It’s magical because it was one of the few occasions that we went out on a just-us date. My mom and I live in different parts of the country and rarely get to be with each other. On this visit, I decided to treat my mom on a movie-and-pizza date. I remember we watched “Caregiver” by Sharon Cuneta, LOL, and had pizza afterwards, where we had these photo ops. It’s magical because it’s often simple moments like these that create the most beautiful memories.

UPDATE: Congratulations, Chats! You are THE winner! 😀
