Warm Weather

Warm is one of the many words that best describes the weather here in the Philippines Wait, not exactly JUST warm but warm AND humid πŸ˜€

Warm, in a different kind of interpretation in this entry

A trip to the beach for some swimming time is a welcome respite from the heat and humidity!

Ipanema Gisele Bundchen Seeds Collection

Last night we attended the Bloggers’ Event for Ipanema’s Gisele Bundchen (GB) Seeds Collection.

Photo taken during the dance performance of the Philippine Ballet Theater where the ballerinas wore the GB Seeds Collection while dancing and yes, no straps were broken πŸ˜€

The launching of the GB Seeds Collection is being teamed with Haribon Foundation in an effort to create not just an awareness on the preservation of the Philippine rainforests but as one of the steps to be taken to realize the goals in the preservation of these treasured natural resources.

I had the chance to ask Mr Patxi Elizalde who was very accommodating about the materials they used for this collection and he explained that these are made from recycled materials like residues from different things like PVC, industrial and painting residues.

There will also be a Walk the Green Mile Walkathon slated on March 21 and part of the proceeds of these GB Seeds Collection will help in the planting and growing of trees

I Love Food

Why do I love food? I asked my daughter this question and she answered we love food because food makes us alive. True, we should eat to live and not live to eat.

Not that I am saying that the “live to eat” thought is not good because that philosophy would be good too as long as the food being taken is healthy.

Below is a sandwich that I prepared:

A sandwich with lettuce, tomato slices, scrambled egg and a slice of cheese in between whole wheat bread that I made for lunch and brought to work.

I plan to have more of these in the coming days, plus more (raw) vegetables in my lunch box and on the dining table too. No sweat with fruits since we all love to eat fruits.

This kind of sandwich made from home is definitely less expensive when bought from a restaurant or a coffee shop. Good for the heart, I hope it is πŸ™‚

Belated Happy Hearts day to all!

Shopping for Baking Gadgets

One of the things I enjoy most when I am in the mall is looking at kitchen gadgets, next to looking at books and discount furniture.

Lately, I have discovered the joys of baking. Not that I bake decadent goodies but rather good enough to be appreciated by my family.

Of course, some of the things on my list that I am looking forward to getting in the near future are gadgets that can help me do better with my baking skills. Even if baking is a bit tiring, at least I know how the food my children are having was prepared

How Was Your Valentine?

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and yes, people have celebrated this day differently.

For us, we went to my eldest daughter’s school to watch the cheering competition I am sure a lot of families and couples of course celebrated this day in different ways.

I am sure a lot of families went out of town to celebrate which was our idea at first but the kids wanted to just stay at home πŸ˜€

To the beach? To a nature park? Reservations at Westgate? The possibilities are endless!

No matter how this day was spent, what is important is to feel loved and to give love not only on this day but the whole year through πŸ™‚

Which reminds me, I have asked and written about Favorite Romantic Movies and Favorite Love Songs πŸ™‚

Scale Model of USS Nimitz CVN-68

The theme for this Saturday is NAUTICAL.

We have several photos taken from passenger ships but I am too lazy to look for them in the files. Nautical commuting is a big thing in this island of 7,107 islands called the Philippines. Yes, we are surrounded by water.

Here is my other entry.

I chose the photo below as my entry because model scales are wonderful and very detailed. So now I present a scale model of the USS Nmitz CVN-68.

Scale model of USS Nimitz CVN-68

This photo was taken late last year from an exhibit about scale models ranging from toy soldiers to cars and locomotives, as well as war planes and war ships. It was a bit difficult to take photos through a glass but I managed a bit. That is until the kids started to get bored πŸ˜€
