A Few Gift Ideas

Been trying to bake different kinds of goodies not just for the packed food the kids need to bring but also for our Christmas giveaways because as always, frugal Christmas is the only way I will go with regards to gift-giving to some select people.

Frugal Christmas doesn’t mean effortless and meaningless because these require time, effort and electric bill boost. Anyway…

Much as I want to have those photo prints to be made and ordered online and delivered right at your doorstep, I simply don’t have the time. I will but maybe not now.

My plans for the photo books and mouse pads (mice pads? LOL) and maybe even door hangers are put on hold for now. Though I might reconsider giving these as after-Christmas gifts πŸ˜€

Currently Watching NUMB3RS

I love watching DVDs in my laptop because it has a big screen and wonderful speakers. Last night I was watching NUMB3RS but fell asleep only to wake up hearing beep-beep-beeping sounds from outside: hubby is waiting for me to open the gate for him.

Hubby’s netbook fails in comparison when it comes to playing games, listening to audio and watching movies. Not that it needs a new video card but the audio is just blah, like sounds made from tin can πŸ™

Hubby at times uses a pair of nice speakers if he wants to listen to music or puts on his big headphones. I don’t need to do that πŸ˜‰

November 17: International UnFriend Day

Having been offline for almost the whole day yesterday, I missed this piece of news: Jimmy Kimmel announcing November 17 as International UnFriend Day. Not really a holiday but hey, this is interesting!

Not that I want to unfriend anyone from my Facebook or Twitter account. Ok, I admit I have some people in mind but why raise controversy when I could just:

  • hide their status update
  • ignore friendship request
  • NOT invite other people to become “friends” with me when I don’t like them in the first place.

I’m sure the third part has some people feel that way with me, I know them and I don’t really care even if they are friends with my children and NOT with me. Their loss to miss out on my interesting links, lol.

Fine with me too to not be in contact, albeit virtually, with some people because I might be tempted to tell write on their wall to stop posting their photos if they don’t get acne laser treatment first. Ok, mean joke.

Who would you want to unfriend, just in case?

Moringa Nutrients

Yes, the “lowly” green vegetable called “Moringa” or Malunggay in Philippine vernacular is one of the most nutritious vegetable there is.

Not only does moringa increase breast milk production, it is also a rich source of nutrients.

Moringa can also be used as a detoxifying agent as well as extender to many dishes.

I’ve read that people in Africa has been planting moringa trees to include in the diet to counter malnutrition. And yes, we’d be having more of moringa in our viands πŸ™‚

Flower Photos

I love taking flower photos. In fact, I have several flower-related posts in this blog and Pixie Pixels blog.

Flowers make our surroundings more colorful and more fun.Β  Flowers uplift the spirits for these make people smile and feel good. Even by looking at flower photos people will feel positive energy as they look at the colorful foliage.

My favorite flower would be sunflower, no question about it πŸ™‚
